Very different games. Just by omitting the "Resident Evil" from its title, this one automatically is less offensive.

UC still wins because it doesn't use the Resident Evil name therefore it's less offensive
But yeah, the game is exactly as bad as it looked from the first footage they showed. Not sure why it was made in the first place. To evaluate Unity as an engine? To train the interns? To test how $30 games sell? All of the above? It's not even similar to RE:ORC to say that the only reason it exists is because of that game.
I mean it has some fairly interesting mechanics, but these have very little to do with Resident Evil (zombies.. that do nothing as every mercenary carries a "Zombie jammer"?!), the production values are that of a mod (..in its first release) and lastly they made some very questionable decisions regarding how it looks/plays (that awful almost-FPS-camera-but-not-really).
As it is, it's a failed experiment. It reminds me a lot of Tactical Intervention.

Umbrella Corps Review – Raccoon Shitty
The game looks and plays like some sort of bad Counter Strike mod. It’s drab, it’s buggy,

Solo mode gets more laughable when you learn that shooting the undead is a waste of time. They drop with one hit from a basic melee attack. Not the Brainer (which actually leads to every zombie getting a free hit on you), but a simple pistol whip. It’s quicker, safer, and easier to just run up to every zombie and bonk them in the face with your pistol.
It also looks fucking ludicrous.
If you hated Operation Racoon City, I urge you to try it again after playing Umbrella Corps. You’ll think it’s fucking amazing.
At least it doesn’t have microtransactions, weirdly.

Probably should have hired some of those fans that were doing RE 1 - 3 remakes via Cry-Engine and Unreal Engine instead of shutting them down and developing, well, this and the earlier Operation Raccoon City games.
(Well someone got the thumb out and started actually making a official re-creation of RE2 so now we'll just have to wait and see how that goes, will be interesting to see actual screens and videos once they get that far into development so they can announce it properly.)
(Some other guy also got the thumb out and realized the PC platform could actually be profitable if they took a bit more time with their porting and skipped the whole LIVE stuff, although MS kinda pay fairly well so it looks like it's going to be timed exclusive for a month on Win10 Store instead now...)
