Yea, graphics look pretty crappy.
That dungeon editor was the best part of the video.

I hope the gameplay and story will be "ok" at least.

Don't know what to think of this.
The GUI and font format doesn't suit the game at all. Looks too modern and out of place.

Lots of things "out of place" in this game, tbh. Looks pretty mediocre overall.

We'll see, I guess. /shrug

Got to say, what I'm seeing now seems more sterile and indeed some things out of place than with some of the first videos I saw. Just not as atmospheric and looks rather tacky/cheap now. Sad

I think Neverwinter Nights had better animations than this. Neutral

You could tell it was coming to consoles from the first footage they shown, what with all that console gamedesign and derptroler friendly systems: cooldown abilities, list based inventory, etc. MCA in the meantime says how happy he is to get rid of console game making, that he's "tired of designing content and interactions that caters to consoles and console controllers.". Meaning you have to shit-ize your game so it can play well and without frustrations on a 10 button donnut that chouch retards just need to squeeze in their hands at all times, regardless of the game or genre.

This game will probably bomb like hell. They don't seem to have a target for this one. It's pissing old riders off with it's simplistic gameplay and rules. It will also leave most of the console audience indifferent, since they have no ideea what a game like this is or plays like. Dozens of console people asked about Divinity if it's something like Diablo, i mean. Those chouch players need third person cinematic action games with AAA production values, they don't botter with stuff like this

What is the head start version about? Just the editor to let people get to grips with playing?

Head Start will have three planned sessions, he adds. The first is scheduled for the weekend of September 11th through 13th and will be available only to members of the Design Council – those that pre-ordered one of the Limited Edition Collector’s or Campaign Collector’s packs. The second will run September 18th through 20th, and will be open to all pre-order customers. These first two sessions will focus on the Dungeon Master modes of Campaign Creation and Dungeon Crawl. In order to avoid spoilers, the Story Campaign will not be available at this time. The third session will run September 24th through the game’s release on September 29th and will once again feature the Dungeon Master modes for all pre-order customers while Design Council members will also have access to the Story Campaign. PC, Mac and Linux cross-platform play will be supported.

When it's a small/indie dev, I believe it's to make a better game.

Played the beta, didn't like it. Poor combat, mediocre graphics, multi is grind for the sake of grind - maybe it could be fun playing with friends and good Dungeon Master but, well, poor combat doesn't make it that exciting. We'll see how good is the singleplayer campaign but I don't have high hopes, tbh Smile

I really can't take these devs seriously. They keep talking about dnd, fifth edition, dungeon master, baldurs gate, all that aweseome lore, and then they go right against everything they say and put cooldown abilities in combat and make it look like a cheap free to play mmo.

That's like buying right to Silmarillion, then sending the book to Michael Bay telling him to make a two hour flick out of it all.

In all those videos i only saw them talking about useless things that every other similar game does too and i only saw combat scenes in the videos. Any news on the story yet? I guess the story is pretty bad, if they don't focus more on that instead. Or do they believe, so many roleplayers will buy this game for the dungeonmaster mode?

Yes but they have done pre-releases that focus on the Dungeon Master mode and then multiplayer, full release will also contain a singleplayer campaign.
(Pretty sure the pre-release version also includes the dungeon editor so players can make their own scenarios.)

EDIT: Pre-release version unlocked first for people that bought the limited editions of the game but only contained a few features, later on it opened for everyone who pre-ordered the game but while they added more features I don't think the campaign is available yet though it might be possible to play solo in custom dungeons or how to say.
