Dat mania of grandeur! These silly fellas are severely underestimating the power of the community. I mean there will always be hurrs who will defend the indefendible and will be okay with pretty much anything anti-customer (it's in their DNA after all), but what this company is doing equals to shooting themselves in the foot 101.

People should buy payday on empty account and request refunds. It'd make them loose money (steam keeps their cut even after refund). Perhaps they'd remove it from steam like they did Arkham Knight as WB was effectively loosing money. That's about the only reason I can see to force them to fix this situation.
IF it really is the case of them introducing a feature like microtransactions that wasn't advertised at the launch(or even worse, that they actively denied that would be present in the game), shouldn't it be reason enough for a refund if people were not ok with that?

They just announced you can have the "chance" to find drills as "drops" at the end of missions. Suddenly many people are back on the suckfest and have completely done a 180 on their anger over being cheated and lied to.

Also,Overkill people said many times when asked about the PD:TH maps that "it would be too much work,everything had to be re-done,we rather do new stuff". Out of the blue, we get FWB during Derpfest and you find the map under the "classic" tab if you want to host it.
So,it appears that they are re-releasing more than just this one and doing another 180 on a statement they made earlier (but this time its okay somehow so better change your review quickly )

Not really "people are fickle". I just have more respect for console gamers more days than I do PC gamers. After reading the discussion forum on Rebel Galaxy....I fully await a comet to hit this planet and wipe out humanity so the stupidity has no chance to reproduce. There was a guy bitching about probably not buying Rebel Galaxy if they didn't do a release with a discount..because apparently 20 bucks for a game of this caliber was hard to part with

A: At the time I made the statement, PAYDAY 2 was something completely different. 2,5 years and 88 updates later, it's about how far PAYDAY 2 has come, how big the team has become, and the continued growth of the game, its content and the stability of the team.
Q: Do you believe $2.50 is a justifiable price for a "key" in a game like PAYDAY 2?...
A: If the current model doesn't work, we'll review it and tune it so it works better. Right now, things are looking pretty great.
