Cult of the Holy Detonation expands the Wasteland 3 experience with entry into the Cheyenne Mountain complex, crammed with new characters, enemies, challenging combat encounters, and powerful new weapons and armor. Your squad of Rangers will be tested like never before in objective-based encounters that put a creative spin on the already deeply tactical turn-based combat. As they face overwhelming odds, the Rangers will need to shut down reactors, clear ventilation systems, and engage defensive countermeasures to stem an unending tide of dangerous mutants and machines within the dilapidated military bunker.

Fargo said a while back that there would be two DLCs in total and some sort of final Director's Cut-like update as per usual. As of now the Expansion Pass specifically mentions that it only includes those two DLCs, though I don't know if the plan will change in the future. Probably not, but then again the industry works in mysterious ways
. Cult of the Holy Detonation is the second and final narrative expansion to the award-winning tactical RPG from inXile entertainment
.....
It’s one last mission for the Rangers in Colorado, and the outcome is certain to be explosive—one way or the other.

Decent fun. I think the combat is better than the previous, it pissed me off to the degree that i stopped playing (enhanced version), it couldn't calculate the line of sight for shit. i haven't noticed such errors here yet.
One thing which is a bit of a decline is that when a quest scenario is finished it's never animated, you have to pretend that the person or group disappears because they're just gonna stand around, even though they're saying they're leaving or they got arrested or whatever. Even games like Baldur's Gate 1 did this, showing the characters leaving the scene or animating the scene in more interesting ways than here. Very lazy and it's sad when these things becomes norms because no one comments on it in e.g reviews, clearly they're not gonna do it anymore when no one says anything.
Also it's spelled "hippie", not "hippy", inXile! (I'm currently siding with those God-Emperor Reagan fanatics).
the best presidents are usually never politicians and i guess i have a thing for rather anti-government presidents. i bet jerry lewis would've been great

Haha, I'm sure he would've been.
I was just quoting one of my favorite moments from Back To The Future
Is it me, or is this game fundamentally... shallow? I mean, so many mechanics seem to be missing, like proper sneaking, for instance. I also find certain aspects of the game very forced. Like if you don't have a certain level of non-combat skill, then combat is the only way to go forward... I'm finding it really hard to get into the whole experience, and also combat is a mess most of the time -- with no active pause when planning ambushes being my main gripe.
As for DLCs: are they meant to be played after finishing the main storyline?
tbh i finished wasteland 3 and right after i played pillars of eternity 2.
in contrast w3 is much more simple and basic.
as for the skill checks i did specialize every character into one field and well at some early point even i could lockpick or hack everything.
the dlcs have a recommended level the game tells you to and no its not @endgame. as soon as you hit the right level some event triggers and you get told that you can do it. holy detonation dlcs is annoying af though.

No, but your squad should have certain level.

The game is alright, but it's definitely shallow. Any trained eye can notice it was dumbed down to be a better fit for consoles. Even the writing had to suffer as the choices and conflicts at hand are just a shadow of what Wasteland 2 had to offer.
I skipped Wasteland 2 netirely, as I hadn't been blown away by game 1, either. Thought this one might be better.
I'm itching to play a good cRPG with turn-based combat, but wanted to take a break from fantasy.
didnt play it myself yet but encased might be a good alternative besides the fact that it has a low iq playthrough option where dialogs go very different and maybe actions too.
Underrail a little on the harder side is an alternative aswell. you might want to watch sszeth's review on yt if you are intereated.
Wasteland 2 will have to wait, seeing how I've just uninstalled part 3.
I tried Kingmaker last week, and it seems great, but I didn't quite have the time to devote to it (in order to learn and understand all its complex systems/mechanics).
Downloading Encased now, will check out ATOM RPG afterwards.
Encased has pretty good visuals and nice writing (dialogue wise) but later chapters are rushed.
ATOM RPG has for the most time very infantile writing (dialogue wise), the plot is ok but after replaying it I wanted to murder someone while reading meaningless dialogue because every character has the 5 dialogue options. ATOM Trudograd is an upgrade with every aspect but with the fact that you can import your character and it's direct continuation of the plot it's highly recommended to finish the first one.
