Not sure, but 1 difference that i spotted is that you can only install GOTY version on mac, maybe that has something to do with it or more realistically maybe goty version has different saves or smth, so they don't want you to loose it

I thnik the game converted to steam now. It was not ready yet now it is.

I think they released it prematurely, GFWL will be removed but it's still in beta (it worked though)
Anyway, at least they added cards

Why would I use SAM if I want cards? I don't care about achievements.
And yeah, a big + for the end of GFWL. I remember losing a nice online save once, because "fuck you,I'm GFWL, that's why".

Run SAM, choose the game, Steam thinks you're running the game. No need to download terabytes of data.

Meh, I think I'll play it. I remember GFWL deleting my online saves one day just because fuck you, that's why, so I never finished it.
Can you choose the language of this version, or is it still tied to stupid GFWL rules?

Yes you can change the language, right click on game on steam-properties-language.

BAC was GFWL + SecuRom - The SecuRom had 5 install limit. Steam version is SteamStub so of course no install limit

No, GFWL is completely absent, and most of the keys don't work with steam registration. You can try though.
