That's what I want to know. Anyway, there will be a 100% working no-dvd (no web) crack sooner or later, I think that I'm gonna wait for that. I just can't see why they disrespect their customers so much.

Well, there are two basic strategies most any company can take. I'm talking about PC games here, but most of it applies generally.
One is to cultivate a good relationship with your customers, communicate, develop respect, reward them for being customers, make a real community. Develop great products, be the good guy who people want to like, and give registered customers occasional bits of free stuff. Make that €50 investment really worthwhile.
The other is to forget all that bullshit, and do everything technically possible to make illegitimate copies slightly more difficult, even if it means pissing off your paying customers. Focus purely on short term income, and do what you think will maximize that.
Bizarrely, it's EA of all companies that seems to be following strategy #1, particularly with BioWare. It's hard to be the good guy when you're a corporate behemoth, but they're largely succeeding.
Ubisoft is operating under the theory that if they prevent piracy for the first few days, they'll make larger mountains of cash money. I think that's bullshit (there are obviously some anecdotes of impatient pirates buying the game, but they seem to be a small minority), but there you go.

somethings wrong and i think mission cant be finished, dont know if its protection or bug, but i done mission which requires to patrol britain coast and sink 50.000 tons, tried to return to port where the game begun but when i got there i saw that my "base of operation" was changed went there clicked end patrol and now im at the dock but this mission still isnt done. So you can do missions but the game doesnt recognize them as completed

Nothing like sinking 4 merchant ships in a convoy to get the blood going. Die you lousy British people!

all i can say is that this has been a really wonky experience for us all (both yarrr! and buyers) and not to jump to conclusions based on one experience.

Where are the time compression buttons? I'm at the first mission now and have to dock at the Kiel harbour. I can't find the buttons on the interface. O.O

yea, it's retarded.. you have to plot a course from your location to inside kiel harbor first and THEN the interface appears
though you can use keypad + and - keys aswell
this game is just completely unplayable
i think i'll just wait six months or so and try again
sh3 + gwx is pretty damn good and only thing sh5 brought new to the table was a few rooms to walk in and prettier graphics
seriously ubi, go fuck yourself.. we're getting damn tired of being urinated on
and to think i almost bought this, if it weren't for the drm

I plot a course to outside kiel harbor after i´ve sinked 4 ships outside polen. I used time x 122 or something, and after the last plot the boat should stopped so i could navigate to the harbor my self, but instead the time x122 didn´t stopped, so my boat landed somewhere outside hamburg, he he !

yar, i used the launcher, (blocked through firewall) and skipped the tutorial, went to the dude, skipped the little movie, clicked on the coastal waters mission button on the map, and a 'request mission' button appeared. clicked that, hit escape, talked to the dude again, selected 'lets start the new patrol' or whatever it said, and was good to go ( plopped me onto the conning tower of the boat). |
Ah, just like you I can also do patrol mission but note this:
patrol mission =/= campaign mission
See the start mission button, we don't have that... |
no, that is how you go out on a new campaign mission
Quote: | then click on Start Mission, then hit the Esc key to see the officer again, then click him and finally, "Let's start the new patrol". |
that is what i did, and that is what i am currently on.
skip the movie, click the german cross button on the map, click on 'request mission', hit escape, talk to the dood, select 'let's start the new patrol', get ported to the boat. hit 'K' to bring up the objectives. it is all there, sorry if this differs from what you are seeing/experiencing.

Hey,
I can confirm now that this is not the campaign mission, I have sunk over 14 tons and still my bar at the mission stays at 0 so all I'm doing is patrol mission, which I did complete but campaign definitely not.
So it's still bugged or is your bar actually filling up like it should be?

yeah Schumi2003 he only finished training mission not the real campaign one. Still waiting for nuke maybe when its nuked it will be repaired quicker ? At least if nuked people would know its not working properly and stop downloading and then finding out its broken.
Its strange sometimes game or movie gets nuked cause 30 seconds of sound is missing or lan option is missing and here we have totally unplayable single player and no nuke ?
