They waited way too long to bring out ranked.half the people that left was because they wanted ranked/comp and I'm sure they've forgotten about the game by now.

Nothing they do matters anyway. I don't think even going full F2P would save them at this point. Only a matter of time before they admit defeat and put the game out of its misery.

LawBreakers Boss Leaves To Join Epic For A "Secret Project"
Quote:
There has been a management shakeup at LawBreakers studio Boss Key. Co-founder Arjan Brussee has left the Raleigh, North Carolina-based game developer to re-join nearby studio Epic Games. In a tweet, Brussee said he's going to be working on a "secret project" at Epic Games. Brussee worked at Epic Games in the '90s before leaving the company to establish Killzone studio Guerrilla Games; he also worked at EA Visceral.

Boss Key's other founder, Cliff Bleszinski, said in his own tweet (via GI.biz) that Brussee is "not only a brilliant person but also a dear friend and I wish him well in his future endeavors. Onward and upward--still makin' games here!"

Brussee was Boss Key's COO; some of his duties included general management, strategy, planning, production, finance, and legal. There is no word as of yet regarding who may take over for Brussee in that role at Boss Key.

Brussee's departure from Boss Key comes not long after the launch of the studio's first game, LawBreakers, back in July for PS4 and PC. The game struggled out of the gate to find a playerbase. Boss Key has pushed hard to beef up player numbers, but it is unclear if this worked. The studio is considering bringing the game to Xbox One and potentially Nintendo Switch after that, but no announcements have been made.

Yes, leave an unfinished game to go develop a sequel for it, probably with more pay to win elements. Laughing

Yeah, sure. Blame the game which literally doesn't have anything in common with LB and ignore the fact that their e-dicks and egos were too big. Idiots.

The shooter's market is oversatured, the subgenres don't really matter anymore. But this one is on Nexon. Funny how they had expectations from a game with 0 marketing.

They had 7000 people in the beta and they retained 90, that is terrible.

I was in the beta, the game is terrible.

If anything they should be blaming overwatch, maybe if it didn't exist somebody would be willing to play this terrible game.

It's not a terrible game, it's actually a pretty good arena shooter with a high skill cap. The only real flaw is that game modes don't work well with the gameplay, but even without that LawBreakers wouldn't have sold well. Arena shooters are dead.

Boss Key Productions admits that LawBreakers has flopped, is working on a new game
Quote:
Boss Key Productions has publicly admitted that LawBreakers has failed commercially. And while the team claimed that it is is determined to give this game the second life it deserves, it will now focus on new projects.

As Boss Key Productions stated:

“The fact is LawBreakers failed to find enough of an audience to generate the funds necessary to keep it sustained in the manner we had originally planned for and anticipated. And while a pivot to free-to-play may seem like easiest change to make, a change of this magnitude takes publishing planning and resources to do it.”

Boss Key Productions claimed that it will will continue to support the game in its current state. Moreover, the team has been working on something new that will reveal soon.

Ridiculous. Noone wants to play a dying game, they should have just shut it down at this point. The time of f2p was many months ago or even better, at release.

But let's be serious, arena shooters are dead as fuck, even Quake Champions is dying. This one never stood a chance...
