dont forget bf2.......... some fierce competition going on there  i think that the smart gamer will go for STALKER, the kiddie one will go for FEAR (omg look at all teh blood!) and the bf whores will go for bf2

well of course im getting all 3 but what i mean is i see FEAR as a gore fest...... loads of games sell on this idea which is why i think they'll see the 3 in the shop and will be like "WOAH MUMMY LOOK BLOOD!!", by "smart" i mean STALKER is pretty in depth and i dont think the casual gamer will like it - i may be wrong but i dont see it that way - also i believe out of the 3 this looks to be the complete package.

Just got the beta client (the one that FilePlanet hosted), found few servers up but when trying to join it asks for a goddamn CD-Key! Argh, could anyone who was in beta share one with me so I can try the game PLZ? I have SWAT4 MP Beta key to trade..

Why the fuck hasnt this game got any good advertisements? It must be one of those sleeper hits when it comes out. Of course, thats only guessing if it does really good. I can seeing the modding possibilities for this game now though. Plus, I like the jumpkick. Maybe, that would enable us to put in a kung-fu mod. I would rather see a military styled CQC mod though. Knuckles to the midsection, and knife to the face. Sneaking up behind someone, snap their neck, throw em on the ground, twist your end of your feet on your skull to twist it out of place.

Because we all hate fileplanet exclusives that never go public, FEAR FUCKING SUCKS!
I know this will be great justification for us warez junkies to not give them our hard earned cash =)

The only way I've found to host and/or join a game is to enable Protowall and block GameSpy Industries and VU Games. Use the Blocklist Manager and select Level 1, Level 2 and Master Exclusions lists and export them to Protowall.
Or you can add the IPs and ports of the companies into your firewall. Check the 2nd page of the other FEAR thread for the info.
dyn IP addys, subnet & mac spoofs, email routing, and if all else fails, wi-fi. banned? lol, its more like brb. =p

am i the only one here not overly impressed by this game? so far weve only seen screenshots and movies not really showing off anything more than standard fare for modern 3d shooters. actually, most the screenshots give me a headache trying to decypher what is happening on screen, with all the explosions and bullets flying by and huge weird enemies right up in your face. from these screenshots ive seen, most levels seem pretty cramped and doesnt look like they give any chances for strategy. which leads me to question how good the AI is if they dont give large areas for the AI to move around and sneak up behind you and whatnot.
anyways my main fear(haha) is from playing the demo, of this game not even running on my system. the game was having serious slowdown issues with even just basic levels without much going on. add in all the stuff from the screenshots and it worries me. sure they will clean up the games engine a bit before it gets released, but why even have an open beta if the engine is in such an unfinished state?
anyways all in all the beta product dissapointed me. besides just being slow there was graphics corruption all over the place, the level design was poor and the character models didnt impress me.
of course i could also be a little biased because i still am foolishly hoping monolith will come out with plans for a new blood or shogo.
anyways i will wait for a few reviews to come in before getting excited about this one after my experience with the dissapointing beta.
