Finally finished the game (not that it was long, but I decided took it very slowly as always), what a huge disappointment. Okay

After a decent start, the game literally descends into mediocrity, with its uninspired level design, lack of puzzles, barely any interaction and streamlined mechanics with no inventory, no need to think anymore, nothing.

Even the story - which is the only aspect that is somewhat engaging - turns out to be less interesting than expected. And what about the monsters, instead of terrifying beasts we're left with clumsy creatures that are more comical than scary. Seriously, what the hell Chinese Room Sad, stick to your Dead Esthers and the likes, but leave Amnesia alone, turning it into a hiking simulator was definitely a bad idea.

There are some good things too though, like the sound effects/voice acting and music which is actually excellent. But it's really not enough to save this game..

I forgot to mention, the visuals are also very underwhelming for a game released in 2013, especially the green tint able to wash out everything and the low res textures, not exactly pleasant to see. If I had to rate it, I'd say a 5,5/10 sadly.

Pinchbeck: There was a pig fucking a dead body. The problem was it just looked like the pig was raping someone. It started off fucking a female body, and actually it just looked like rape. So we switched it out for a male body, and it looked like gay rape. No better. We were trying to make a point of how animalistic the pigs were. But it didn’t add enough to justify the schlock.

Jessica Curry: We were lying in bed together and Dan tapped me on the shoulder and woke me up and went, “Pigs fucking human corpse.” I thought, “Who the fuck have I married!”

Pinchbeck: But you’ve got to push it too far to find out where that line is. If you tiptoe cautiously up, you’ll always fall short. That’s how you find something with a real edge.

Ok, i completely forgot i pre ordered this game and i haven't tried it Laughing but i've noticed people aren't too happy about this one. Can anyone explain without any spoilers what made this a bad game compared to dark descent? I loved that game!

I didn't like it because it wasn't scary at all. It was also too story-based, the puzzles were a joke and there wasn't much backtracking or exploration like in the first game. Enemy AI was pathetic since most of the time you could run right past them.

My early impressions are not wildly different from my final ones as well, so there you go, a repost of them:

+ Somewhat interesting story.
+ Much bigger levels I think (less loadings).

- Not a single enemy, threat, or (actual) puzzle so far.
- Less interactivity, no inventory (which means more elaborate puzzles will probably not feature at all), no resource management.
- Story is the exact same as in the first one "I don't remember much, what is going on? Oh there was that disastrous expedition.."
- A bit worse graphics!

Definitely feels like a downgrade from the original. Neutral

But still interesting enough (for now..) to check it out. I just hope something more interesting (like an enemy, or a puzzle) appears later on.... You Suspicious Be

I wonder if someone at BioWare will see this and decide to add a pig-like race to Mass Effect that you can romance and sleep with to pander to the beastiality crowd, complete with cringe-worthy "romantic" dialogue.

"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.

Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Finally played it. Well, it was more or less a walking simulator for the most part. Atmospheric yes, but not much gameplay to speak of. The story is absolutely nuts. And also, i haven't gotten goosebumps like i did during the final monologue in a long time. This left me with an impression and for that i'm gonna have to give it thumbs up.

The first game was more enjoyable overall though.
