Bizarre, but some licensed component of it must be expiring. Usually it's some piece of music, but I don't know if this game used any third party music.
TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"
Curious, wonder if they had some license that is expiring but for what? Maybe some music library unless it's voice acting or something with publishing rights in certain regions?
EDIT: Hmm and I don't believe the PC version ever had the add-on content or DLC added in but things were different back in 2008 ~ 2009 after all.
Well I guess remaster doesn't have to mean re-do 100% from scratch on UE4 with latest everything and extras but a bit lacking and that's why the PC port was removed?
Eh maybe it'll come back, with small minor tweaks.
(Like 30 FPS instead of 60! )
Seems to be PS4 exclusive too, wonder if Durante might have been right when he somewhat cynically questioned if the PC version was pulled due to it being really good.
(Funny but I guess it's due to the engine, 60 FPS, arbitrary resolution support, no real bugs either though there's no VSync toggle and it defaults to on unless ini file disabled.)
Would also cost less at 10$ or lower during discount but the PS4 and PC platforms have distinct user bases and the PC version would be no major threat but eh it got delisted for some reason so either Square killed it or they'll be pushing this to PC in a few more months time after the Western PS4 version is out. We'll see.
EDIT: And a few posts after that comparison.

Will there be any new content added to The Last Remnant Remastered?
Sakamoto: There is no new content. It includes all of the elements that were added when it was ported to the PC version. On top of that, we’ve enabled high-speed movement in the field. Also, we’ve increased the number of save data slots. I think both of these will be helpful during gameplay.
Do you have a message for fans of the original title?
Sakamoto: We’ve changed the rendering engine for this remaster (from Unreal Engine 3 to Unreal Engine 4), and we’ve made adjustments to things like how light is portrayed, effects, etc. Also, we’ve implemented some improvements in areas of details, like changing fonts and redrawing all of the character icons in battle. I hope everyone will enjoy this title after its rebirth.
