Any mid-range card can still max out most games just fine. |
And when you can't max 'em out, you put the settings on medium and it still looks better than the console counterpart

Gone Home
The Stanley Parable
Consortium
The Banner Saga
(In that order)
Also if you like horror check out Amnesia: The Dark Descent and Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs.
As for adventures, I've heard good things about Broken Age but haven't tried it yet.

Should have gotten a 770, I have a 660 and I can feel its limits sometimes, although that has happened only in Crysis 3 thus far, and to some extent, BF4.
Also, to answer your question, I would start with Bioshock Infinite, Dishonored, the Mass Effect trilogy (if you can tolerate the ending, but the journey there is fantastic, even though heavily dumbed down in terms of mechanics in the 2nd and 3rd one), AC series, Tomb Raider (found it highly entertaining, especially in terms of gameplay), Far Cry 3, Deus Ex (skip the second one), kingdoms of Amalur, Saints Row 2, 3, 4, Telltale games and the list goes on.

He was asking for PC exclusives since he said he will play multiplatform games on his consoles.

but why the 660 ? Not even the ti ? But yeah, you're gimping yourself from the start there.
I had a 60ti and she served me well. But she really was at her end now. Couldn't max any new games anymore since some time. BF4 in medium to play it smooth etc.
Should have gone with 770/r270x

Really? The comments state that BF4 runs on ultra at a steady 60fps on this card. It had by far the best reviews in that pricerange so I went for it. oh and it says GEFORCE GTX 660 TI in the description. so is that one: http://www.amazon.de/Asus-Radeon-270X-Grafikkarte-GDDR5/dp/B00FRU9P9U/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1391685600&sr=8-2&keywords=r270x vastly superior still? I would make the 20€ jump if it is and send this one back.
Thanks for the game recomms, but yeah I already played all the multis on console, except for dishonored, will play that on pc now I think.
@BearishSun
of those games I played Stanley Parable, Gone Home, Broken Age (which was great btw.) and Amnesia on my old gfx card. the gtx260 still could handle those, albeit sounding linke a chopper taking off while doing so (headphones were required to play anything )
Will try Consortium and Banner Saga though, as for Machine for Pigs, isn't the thread here full of hate for that game?
Edit: as the first review on Amazon says Crysis 3 runs between 70-90fps without vsync and with vsync at constant 60fps with everything on ultra, I'll try that first before considering sending it back, I'll post my results here later today. And isn't crysis 3 still the benchmark title? Or should I try something else?

i wouldn't trust those "runs everything on ultra" reviews too much. Probably the shops who post those kinda messages themselves in order to make more sales lol.
Anyway, with the 660ti, you get medium-high max for 60 fps and pretty sure at high you still dip below most of the times.

Conquest Large, Lancang Dam, I think there were 61 players online. Didn't run it for much since I absolutely hate the game, but it's possible, with those settings, to get an acceptable FPS. It's not a bad card, but I would have gotten something else. Turning VSync on will drop the FPS in the 30-40's, at best, but that's unbearable to me so I will leave without VSync until I get a new card. Max settings to everything will, however, confirm what saus, sin and you are saying.
