Nice game to play in the middle of the night with heapdhones Very Happy gave me some nice chills when i looked out of the window haha (even though i was quite prepared for that - saw that part it in a youtube vid). Gonna try it in 3D tonight, hopefully it works.. The Thief games and System Shock 2 were absolutely fantastic in 3D, far more impressive than 3D in movies Smile

Kind of sluggish at times (GTX 680 4GB VRAM and 5GHz i7) which is a bit odd.

i said it is like alan wake when alan was in the forrst at night and the wind started blowing , background noise is somewhat similar but toned down but also builds tension when played with headphones

I had all that courage and fearlessness built up right before playing the game... Reached the house. Sun went down. Entered. Pressed 'Esc' and quit. Okay

Everything went better than expected Very Happy. The "game" (it's more like an experience) is extremely short, but overall I found it very well made, from the nerve-racking sounds to the visual effects, including G-Man's stalker creepy cousin who keeps chasing the poor protagonist for no reason.

played it last night with dark room and 5.1 headphones and i admit! this is creepy game but (now time for some bitching Wink
game like this could be much much better with better graphic engine and better sound, the sound samples sometimes feels so cheap like games from 20+ years ago and it kills the game abit and that g-man...if they made it more 3d with better look and not 2d card look and feel.
also shadows are bad (maybe it is my rig but shadows are with pixels at the edges)
atmospher overall is good so what i am saying is there is alot of potential here and it could be better.

You realise this is an Indie game right? Waling on the graphics is harsh when they are 10 times better than your average indie game.

yea i do know, all i am saying is:take this good atmospher and put some "steroids" in it and you may have very good product.
what i said is more compliment than negatively.

What's the point of saying that you use a 5.1 headset when the game only supports normal surround?

Plus please don't come with virtual 5.1 surround crap because that hardly works properly, i got a 7.1 virtual (corsair vengeance 1500) and it's fucking shit compared to my true 5.1 (Roccat kave 5.1) i had before.

In this game having 5.1 or 7.1 means fuck all and doesn't add any extra value to your experience.

if you will read my post again, you will notice that i didn't mention anything about virtual 5.1.
as matter of fact,i own true 5.1 (Roccat kave 5.1) Wink and i only tested it with the surround option so i don't know if there is any change between the stereo and the surround and it doesn't change the fact that some sound samples are poor.

I know you didn't mention it, that's why i already said it, just incase you would make your case with virtual 5.1 Razz

Btw, i envy you for still having the kave 5.1, i had 3 of them an they all 3 broke within 2 years. couldn't be arsed with their support anymore and their shitty quality products.
It had very good sound, that's the thing i loved about it, but the rest...

(sorry for off-topic)

lol,i am aware of the cons of this headphones,i know many people been complain about the quality of the material and also this headphones are heavy on the head (some call it tank on the head lol),but after all this, the sound and the true 5.1 it produce is stronger than the cons and i have got mine not so long ago,it was 6 months ago and since i know the weekest link of this set,i am trying my best to keep them safe. i hope they will last for a while Razz and sorry you lost yours:(
3 sets in 2 years and you used them gently or they fall and absorb some gaming anger?

There's a bug with the 1500's where you have to reset Windows to 5.1 sound every time you restart the computer. Have you tried that? You'll know its working if the Dolby ProLogic image lights up in the 1500 config program.

The prologue and last couple of "chapters" are relatively calm, it's that middle part that gets quite hectic because of Slenderman's omnipresence Laughing . I don't know if it's because I had too much booze, but after the first couple of close (bad) encounters the game stopped being scary for me, since I started playing it like a normal trial 'n error adventure where all you have to do is explore the woods ignoring both the dude and all those cheap invasive visual effect and buzzes. Very Happy

Yea the effects are just annoying to be honest, felt very cheap to me. The guy was standing there looking at me.. so what?, maybe I have played too many of these kind of games by now.

Not sure how i missed this game but this is the type of survival horror games i'm looking for. Not garbage like RE 6 Laughing

I'n so trying this tonight in the dark and with a pair of headphones. I'm not a wuss like most of you Cool Face

Yes i do jump once in a while playing these types of game in the setup i mentionned above but that's the whole point. When you play games like this you become tense and on the edge which takes immersion on another level.

Now i haven't played Slender so i don't know if i will like it but how does it compare with Amnesia in terms of atmosphere ?
