I'm only up to the third mission, but so far there hasn't been much strategy to this game. All you do, is simply move yyour troops forward, click on the enemy and the game just plays itself. It's this over and over again. Please tell me there's more to this?

well, i'm in the sixth, and i have to agree with goot on that one.
it's gettin repetetive somwhat. bulid troops go circle kill em all shit. BORING! and the camera angles annoy the hell outa me.
the guy Yo'momma "act" like she don't know.

graphics are awesome (water and dropships are top notch), but this game does not seem as cool as GC1. GC1 was unique, there were no single units, only squads, which made control a breeze. your army was centered by the APC, which could repair all your units, haul all your footsoldiers, and held your commanders, so if it died, so did you.
now, GC 2 has no APC, no squads, you can only group select 18 units, unlimited secondary fire, gargantuan interface, and looks more like starcraft2 than GC2.
that having been said, think i will wait for more conclusive reviews before i buy this one.

actually GC2 DOES have APC. When I was playing the demo, I was able to deploy APC's thru reinforcements. You havent gone far enough in the game to get one yet.

is anyone having strange freezing probs during the game (i was in tutorial)? i have to do go to Task Manager and then back to the game to get it working again. any ideas?

Massive entertaiment ownz. I loved the first one and after playing both the single and mp demo of the 2nd one I was amazed. Great graphics and great gameplay.

First patch is out:
- Fixed a firewall problem where a patch file list could not be downloaded which made all menus disappear.
- Fixed bug with MP options. You cannot enter negative numbers in Score limit, Time limit, Starting AP and AP Gain any more.
- Fixed the progress bar so it can be hidden from script.
- Fixed bug: Unable to create a Massgate(TM) account if the font size is minimized.
- Added a limit of max 10 number of chat rooms per player.
- Changed so the game doesn't close if cd-key authentication fails. Returns to main menu instead.
- AI behavior improved.
- AI now uses support weapons NSA Radar and Viron Drop pods.
- AI now uses NSA Snipers properly.
- Fixed bug: Sometimes the Anti Missile System (AMS) did not stop single missiles/grenades.
- Fixed bug: View & weapon range circles now follow the terrain.
- Several other minor issues.

Complete patch changelog (new features as well as bug fixes and balance fixes, why leave those important parts out?):
NEW FEATURES
Added automatic content (map) download when joining a multiplayer server.
Added Record & Replay of single player and multiplayer games.
Added support for joining games from GameSpy Arcade.
Added new in-game Slim GUI (enabled/disabled in the Visual Options menu).
Added Super Slim GUI (only mouse + shortcuts enabled) by pressing F10 in-game. Press F10 twice to return to normal GUI.
Added "map bookmarks". Press CTRL-F1..F8 to record a map position and press F1..F8 to move camera instantly to the position.
Massgate(TM) player chat list is now sorted in alphabetical order.
Added Massgate(TM) server list filter for Not full/Not empty.
Added scorch marks.
Added shorelines.

this game reminded me a lot like starcraft. nice graphics some fuzzy edges on some cutscens and the voice work video is soooooo bad. its a nice game i woulda played it for longer but my screen just fucked up, wasnt selectin ne units only looking around with the camera, couldnt pan. still some nice graphics but i would prefer an isometric viewpoint i spent too long tryin to control everything quickly.
