spill the beans, we want to feel the same divination you have! <3 |
Well psychedelics can elicit life changing psychotropic experiences. I know my fundamental life philosophy was changed for the better after my encounter with a combination of Mescaline, Salvia and an exotic synaptic activation threshold dampening GABA-B agonist.
Of course not something to ever indulge in regularly, but psychedelics, (especially the naturally sourced ones) can truly be enlightening.
My attitude is that I want to experience as much of life as possible, this includes altered states of mind. Not that I need to experience every drug in order to satisfy this curiosity or anything, but one of each different class of drug. Where they are selected specifically for minimal physiological/psychological risk, is something I have already done. I'm effectively an expert on mind-altering substances due to extensive research, and I also have access to virtually any research chemical I want for minimal expense.
Note that I've never done any recreational drug regularly, this is not what exploration is about. Addiction, especially to street drugs, is still abhorrent to me on a personal level. Just that I'm not judgemental about it, apart from a few well known street drugs that you have to be an idiot to get hooked on. |
the war on drugs has had a huge influence on research in that it really hurt advances into pharmaceuticals, especially when it comes to treating psychological / psychiatric disorders. There was a nice article on that alongside that LSD conference some years ago in Vienna (celebrating the 100th birthday of Hofmann and his discovery).
Psychotropics are also still on my "to do" list, because i d love to experience them for myself, but since i dont really have a drug personality i never was really eager to hunt some down. Wouldnt want to take them recreationally but also rather to gain insights into the changes in perception they bring with them. DMT especially sounds really interesting, but seems to be rather difficult to obtain, but as i said, i havent tried very hard yet. |
When it comes to DMT you have to be ready to commit to a truly transcendental experience. I have permanent hallucinogen persisting perception disorder (HPPD) from my experiments with this substance. It is not something to be taken lightly.
Although I would recommend it to any experienced psychonaught. There are many anecdotal reports of people suffering chronic derealization due to abuse of this substance.

I've tried it once. During my teenage years I went through a phase where I was taking acid every day, and as such my doses were high in order for me to get the effect that you would normally get from taking 1 trip .
Approximately 10 years ago I took a hit of DMT. I had been putting it off for ages, but one night after a night out, we came home pilled off of our heads and I decided to take it. Everyone that I knew that had taken it had warned me that it was potent and not to be sniffed at but I didn't think that it would be anything that I hadnb't experienced before. I was wrong.
Let me tell you this..my world crumbled as soon as I blew the smoke out and I was immediately somewhere else. Somewhere very real. I didn't think that anything could do to me what DMT did. To say that it's intense is an understatment. Everything that happened to me during that 15 minutes or so seemd as though it was 100% real. It was scary, but amazing at the same time, but it's not something that I'd want to do again.
