From Newzleech.com:

Update: On 19/11/2009 Newzleech's host in Ukraine Colocall got raided by the country's secret service.
Newzleech wasn't targeted specifically. Every server in the building was removed as part of an unrelated
criminal case. Why they took every server nobody knows. Lots of legitimate Ukrainian businesses have
been affected. In case you're worried there was zero logs on the server so don't worry about that.

Unfortunately there isn't a recent backup on the server scripts. I am currently rebuilding the site from the
old backups that I have. Please be patient while the site is being rebuilt. We should be back before the end
of the year.

Sorry for the lack of updates.

This is what happens when computer illiterate morons are given the reigns over a computer crime unit. Rolling Eyes

(BTW, has nothing to do with Ukraine, it's like that everywhere.)

Meanwhile the 'search' function in both newsbin and newsleecher works just as good, although it costs a bit of money to use.
It's very convenient having this functionality in your download program.

Yes, I use NewsLeecher Supersearch too, but a lot of passworded releases lately... Sad I don't remember getting a passworded release when using Newzleech, but maybe it was just luck.

Usenet is just flooded with passworded releases as of late.

At least a lot of them are marked as 'passworded' on Newzbin, as well as the password being in the comments section a lot of the time Smile

same price as it's always been (at least for a couple of years anyways), 30p a week (8 week minimum). Actually there is a 1/2 price sale on right for all of december, think you can buy up to a year maximum.

you re making a good point there. Usually it was deemed ok in the past to talk about newsgroup websites because you needed to pay them to get access, so no direct downloads from urls. But since one of them seems to be free, it does make sense to be on the lookout.

EDIT: the posted site above, which i edited seems to also only be an indexing site, not a newsgroup server as it looked like at first. So, to the two people i edited posts of: sorry, my bad. => the website in question: http://www.nzbsrus.com/
