I couldnt enjoy leveling & combat in the game cause everyone else leveled at the exact same pace, I couldnt enjoy exploring cause I felt like i'd seen it all before (traps right out of tomb raider, hell right out of doom, forest right out of real life, but less polys and no smell), I loved the quests in morrowind (very realistic) but in ob they were just over the top, and what was with the ultra mainstream bad guys (mythic dawn)?
Utterly mainstream drivel, Bethesda whoring it out for money on PC Xbox360 (and soon to be ported to ps3). Not worth the nothing i payed for it.
But i still have faith in Beth for any other game that now that they've got the money to stop whoring out from ob.... |
Yeah, Oblivions traps were right out of Tomb Raider, and the oblivion dimension was exactly the same as Doom!!1!1 What the fuck are you on about?
I have never seen a trap in tomb raider where you trigger a tripwire and a spiked ball on a chain swings down to smash you. Hell was enclosed in doom, in oblivion you are in the open air with giant spires towering above you.
Realistic quests in morrowind!? Doom and Quake have gothic styling? 
I mean, I don't think Oblivion is that fantastic either but you're just chatting complete shit.

Irl you get a job, you do a series of tasks (mostly shit tasks) to advance to wherever you want to be (granted a creative position is different, but thats outside the scope of this kinda rpg). In morrowind you did exactly that, you went off and got herbs for the higher ranks and tracked down guild dues and what not.
Where as in Ob, every bloody quest has its own storyline, character arcs, requires you restoring some family with knowledge or item, getting tangled with some bad guy/creature. It's just ridiculous.
Your telling me that there is some major difference between doom hell and ob hell? the theme is the same. sure there are spikes and its more fantasy and technically theres not much refernce to hell, and that texture over there is metal but this here its bricks, but same fucking deal. Been there done that, hell is done, who cares if its swords or guns, who cares if its fantasy or scifi.
Ill grant you the tomb raider one, dont see that often, but you do see spikes, puzzles, falling objects, false floors, moving spikes, ect ect.
Note: I didn't say doom/quake was in goth styling, I said if I wanted to play in hell I'd play doom/quake any mildly goth fps. I missed the or.

There is no consequense in Oblivion, that makes it pointless to play the game. And it also sucks, there are dungeons in every damn direction, and not many of them have any real purpose then just going in kill the bad guy and get some phatt leewt.

Thats were the game falls too... When you have the Daedric full set (sword, armor, shield and so on) what the heck is there to loot for? Some magic ones? pfffft come on, just do a few oblivion gates, grab a few of those stones and the whole set is enchanted with some "useful" things.
Nahh time to rush that last oblivion gate and them I'm done with the game.

someone said here that PC one is far better than X360?
can you explain as well why?
all i know Xbox 360 has better visual - AA by default on, as well as HDR on, that PC can't do.. (only some ATi patch for x18/9xx series)
any other points to bring?

well you can turn AA and HDR if you play with the registry file , i even posted a pic to prove it and yeah this game runs slower but looks the same like on xbox
and why the PC version is better the xbox , the answer is simple : MODS that fix the game  and add more quests + they make this game more playable |
