Yeah, as they said on TV here, the swedes are winning, and thats great.. But they got help from Norwegians, and some different swedes (don't know the names =\ ) said Norway have been a great help etc. Then the norwegian reporter said to himself.. hmm, so if we train them to be better, why the hell dosn't we get better this year... Well well, we got some few golds tho Smile

And this might let you guys know why Sundin is so important to us Wink

Sundin feeling gold rush
Leafs anticipating revitalized return of team captain
'He had that little tiger in his eye again,' says Domi
Feb. 27, 2006. 01:00 AM

Maple Leafs captain Mats Sundin will likely take part in a ceremony at the Air Canada Centre tomorrow night with his gold medal around his neck, but that extra weight will be nothing compared to the pressure he faces in the final 25 games of the season.

As the Leafs make a desperate bid for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, they'll be counting heavily upon Sundin to have the same on-ice impact in Toronto that he had in Turin.

They certainly expect to see a rejuvenated Sundin when the Leafs face the Washington Capitals tomorrow night.

The Sundin who left Toronto was rather beaten down and, according to teammate Tie Domi, beginning to suffer a crisis of confidence for the first time in his career.

"I don't think he had the confidence he has had before, for some crazy reason," Domi said. "He doesn't get caught up in things in the media — he never has and I don't think he ever will — but I don't know what happened. His confidence just wasn't the same as it was."

Sundin has served admirably for his country and it's not surprising that the Olympic experience appears to have re-energized him.

"Watching him in the Olympics, he had that little tiger in his eye again and that's the best news we could have around here," Domi said. "I think the best thing that could have happened to us was that (Sweden) won and he's got his confidence back. We need his confidence here the rest of the way."

Domi said Sundin called him after the game from the Swedish dressing room and was obviously ecstatic about his country's victory in the gold-medal game, but said the Leafs were never far from Sundin's thoughts.

"He cares more about what's going on here now," Domi said. "He said, `This is a great feeling, but we have a big job ahead of us.' So his mind is already here and that's a good thing for us. He has been through a lot this year, more so than ever."

Darcy Tucker has often said that Sundin is the best captain he has ever played with and Sundin's performance in the Olympics did nothing to diminish that opinion.

"He seems to thrive on having more space on the bigger ice and he uses it to his advantage," Tucker said.

"He's the leader of our hockey club and we're going to rely on him heavily down the stretch to play a big role on our hockey team and provide that offence that he did while he was gone. He has been a little snake-bitten this year, but the last few games before the break he was getting lots of chances and you could see him coming around. Hopefully a few of those start going in and he's a difference-maker in a few games for us."

Sundin, who has struggled mightily this season with just 11 goals and 41 points in 45 games, needs just four more to hit the 800-point plateau with the Leafs.

He'll likely catch Dave Keon for second overall on the franchise points list next season, but currently remains 120 points behind Darryl Sittler (916 points) for No.1.

He's 24 goals behind Keon (365) and 48 behind Sittler (389) on the all-time goals list.

Sundin is under contract to the Leafs for one more season with a team option for 2007-08 that will almost certainly be picked up
