yea but where is the centre of the universe then? even with grids in 3 dimension you still need a point 0 0 0 you could say like xyz - (insert rate of universe expansion) but again it's impossible because no1 knows!
|
That's why Einstein said everything was relative. He was referring to the speed of the "ether". And Because there is no exact centre of the universe you cannot determine speeds of "spacematerial" referring to a centre.
So he said, everything is relative, meaning, you will always need an exact first location to refer your coordinates too.
So im very sorry, but there will never be a teleporter in space. Unless someone proves Einstein wrong.

Not true.
You can time travel now, except only into the future, and only by a few minutes. Special relativity people! |
I believe in special relativity as much as I do the religion of scientology. Bullshit. ACTUAL time travel requires you're molecules to move from one 'dimension' or place on the timeline, to another. i doubt any of us, including myself are all that qualified to accurately argue this.

Except it's actually been proven, doh!

Normally I'd just piss on you or become childish and attack you, but I like you and respect you, and I'm feeling awful forward thinking this evening. Special Relativity has been proven in theory. Just like the way a black hole works in theory. For all we know there could be a little vaccuum in the middle of a black hole.
Of course, I didn't know all I couild OF special relativity, so I went and read up on it. For all of you looking to do the same, I pass you this link: http://www2.slac.stanford.edu/vvc/theory/relativity.html
If you clicked said link, check the spoiler:
Spoiler: | The first link in google, LAZY |
http://science.howstuffworks.com/relativity2.htm
Is another decent reference. I urge animal mother to help with background information on this as well.
I'd rather not get into an arguement about it, but something proven in theory isn't all that proven to me. I am a skeptic.

I stand by what I’ve said.
Time travel would fuck up life as we know it.
And teleporters would only be good for “portable whores”.

I dont if teleporting whores all over the place will be cheap...the transport costs might be huge!

@Apex...well, if they're whores, they must get some kinda discount as they would do alot of traveling right? Something along the lines of frequent flyer miles?

Do you guys think in our time anything will be even discovered that will truly change the mankind, like something big, like when we started using electric power (example) ... or for the rest of our 80ish max years for most on this planet we will only see certain technological improvements, but nothing that really matters? I always wondered this and I still cannot say I am very optimistic in dear Aliens showing up anytime soon or anything of such nature that would really impact our existance ...

I say that within thirty years we'll go create a civilization on the moon and some kid will discover series of glass-like tunnels underneath its surface and after a mumbu jumbo team is sent to investigate moon is thrown into space and we never hear from them again. And after the disappearance of the moon our planet will start dying. And about four years later after the moon vanished we'd be covered in hot magma from series of volcanic activities
Now, technology wise. We'll see weapons that don't kill people.
Electric knives (dull as a round ball) but when it comes in contact with human skin it hurts like a son of a gun.
We'll see laser guns (Not like zing zing and kaboom) more like these laser guns will blind anyone for 10-20 minutes and coppers would rush in and arrest.
And finally we'll see a first bio dome on mars by 2025 and it'll turn into big brother like event. A channel will be on the TV that'll let us see what goes on and such.
Future is such a splendid thing, y'know... you can wander off and wonder bout the marvelous things time will bring. I still hope that one day we'll discover an alien race and we'll begin space exploration. Right now it's possible but it'll somewhat take forever to go from galaxy to another.
We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year, running over the same old ground. What have we found? The same old fears. Wish you were here.
