One of my teachers of psychology told me this. He said it's a way you can program your brain to react. For instance if you convince yourself you see the number "43" everywhere, and do it for long enough, then it starts becoming #43 you see everywhere.

The way this works is that the subconscious reacts to what's in the peripheral view, meaning for instance when you just turn around, but don't really register the fact that the time was "21:12" or something like that... well, the brain still registers this, and since you've programmed it to react to it, you instantly look at that place again, and get your realization.

This is much how the mind is able to distinguish details in a crowd, even though it's full of faces btw.

So you're trying to say that skid got some error in the source code in his head?

Thats weird, it's sort of like my problem when I come to this forum. I always see "where 4 is teh 2rents" in every new thread in the PC games section. It must be some psychosis I have. Very Happy

Skid, maybe you should try looking at a clock with hands rather then a digital one, or do they somehow warp into a digital display when you look at them? Rolling Eyes

same as .. just laying in bed after your awake is like death warmed up ..

really think about what the numbers look like .. a 4 someone sitting down 8 spider 2 hook .. associations that are not constant just shapes & associations happening .. the number 22:22 is a goodie ..

looks a bit like coat hangers lined up in a closet .. now that I think of it ..

It could be a load of hooks, like meat hooks in a slaughter house, or maybe Dharma initiative swans.

I don't really see how the appearance of numbers relates to anything, at all. I mean an 8 could be eyes, or breasts or a fat person it looks nothing like a spider.

Exactly how is 22:22 a goodie? Because you don't want to say his death is going to be by having a meet hook inserted into his rectum by no. 47?

Skidrow, hun, you know how you hate your alarm. You wake up early so it doesn't have to go off and shit? Well that's how 22:22 works.

For a while you've been looking at a clock and it's always been 22:22 by accident. But now it's stuck in your head. (Your head is like a big ass friggin clock) so if it feels (in your head) that's it 22:22 Rolling Eyes you quickly look at a clock.

Same with other shit. Like if you were a kid and every morning you brushed your teeth it became a routine. And so on and you did it for the rest of your life because you didn't see how its time loss would affect you.

Best bet it to set it to 12 hour system. Then at 10:22 if it still happens then it's not a weird clock thing.... it's your fuckin' head that's screwed up.

hehe i have something like that as well, i often look at my watch when it hits 13:37 or 13:36
(cant always be accurate eh?)
like a sense of orientation we all have a sense of time, while we can only roughly estimate time by ourselves i guess at subconscious level we have exact info, like a big log file.
as we dont have control of our subconscious domain we cant actively wait for that time and then look at the watch, it happens automatically, we suddenly take a look at it and voilà...
