Question.
Why do most of the people call Estonians slow. (I'm not insulting or anything, I'm just asking) Like in KVN (you should know what's that), everyone are making jokes about Estonians being slow.
Are you guys really that slow in Estonia ? What's up ? |
What to you mean by saying: Estonians are slow. Can you give me any examples about that?
I personally haven’t heard any jokes about Estonians being slow. Sure love the hear some |
You won't understand them.
Thanks for the answer Silent That makes some sense
About Hitman: Movie (2007)
Vin Diesel is a hardcore gamer, and absolutely loves the Hitman series. For that reason I have faith that he wont destroy the movie.
Response: Well, Uwe Boll probably loved the Alone in the Dark games.

yes agreed but not nearly on such a scale, plus basicaly when you beat the brits you had something to cheer about and not soon after you were powerfull.
i mean look at the countries released and victorious from when nazi germany fell, short term patriotism.

so I disagree that American patriotism is as a result of America being so influential on the global stage.

chinup your argument holds true for single people but not for one nation, that does not work.
for example, britain is definatly not unified...... southerners hate the welsh.. northerners hate southerners etc. ppl of different cities hate everyone from every other city and all the British hate londoners.
*hate may be a bit of a strong word and quite exagerated but you get my drift*
yet you dont see us parading everywhere. also i have yet to see a country where such views hold true....

hmmm well that phrase pisses me off they're always like 'when our forefathers came into this land they had a dream.. the american dream...' damn fags. and yes I totally agree that 'patriotism' isn't shown by flying a flag all the time. Every TV / film / anything to do with america since 911 involves an american flag. Trust me... find me a show which doesnt show the flag in the background, or makes a reference to america as the single/only thing.
Seeing something so much becomes wont have the same effect as a rare thing. When I hear the national anthem it sometimes sends me funny and I like those moments.... i honestly dont think americans can have it since they experience it everyday. I heard some bullshit that in every classroom there's an american flag, and every morning people salute it. fuck that shit.

Far as I am aware, from what ive been told my family members who are american, that yeah, every classroom has a flag and yeah, they say the Pledge of Alligance (spelling?) every morning after the national anthem...that tho, isnt all that bad imo. In Canada, every morning we heard the Canadian national anthem in both english and french plus we had a flag in every classroom. And, on rare occasions, they'd play God Save The Queen (thats the English Anthem right?) after the Canadian national anthem...lol funny tho, they'd play it after the Canadian Anthem in english but before the anthem in french
Honestly, if u know ur the best, why always say it? Thats the thing ya know, the country is FULL of insecurities and I really do think its falling apart from the inside...all because of Bush and the way he has gone about things since 9/11...seriously, he's divided the country, fucked over the middle to low class ppl etc etc.

Heh, insecurities... yah right.
Overly patriotic? Not really. What about the Russian love for the "Motherland".
Same deal I think. This is my home, these are my people. Nothing wrong with feeling unified with them.
Don't get what you guys are so uppity about.

Nono man
Be proud of ur country and stuff. Thats cool...but everything that the USA presents on an international stage (movies music etc) nowadays has usually some kinda over patriotic bs to it.
US "Greatness" is shoved down our throats all the time - well, i cant speak for the rest of the world, but Canadians anyhow.
I have no problem admitting the US is a great country, as is my country. But thats the thing, the US gives no respect to any other countries cuz they simply are "the best", which the US isnt. Like all countries, the US has pros and cons, it just the vast majority of american's are blind to cons.
See what Im saying?
I hope I didnt offend u man, Im speaking generally, not at you.

No I am not offended.
I just get a little defensive when people say "Americans", hell that's me, but I'm never what people are talking about.
They think every American is the same, and they refuse to think otherwise.

I agree. Americans as individuals are cool. But as a whole, are blind and ignorant....
Like my cousins for example are world educated, they know about other countries, customs and americas place on the world stage. They can see the pro's and con's of their country. That however doesnt make them less American, just intelligent.
But the vast majority, from personal experience, are like weducks and completely ignorant to the outside world and world opinion.
I think those are the type of ppl most refer to when speaking in a negative way about Americans.
Lol I once went to Florida, family vacation thing. Anyway, I met this girl down there...i was oh, I dunno, bout 17, i think she was the same age. Anyway, after finding out where I was from and all about Toronto, she told me she was amazed we didnt live in igloos and that we had everything americans had. She thought we didnt even have electricity. Naturally, i thought she was joking but nope, this broad was serious.

The "American Dream" is a fantasy designed to trick the lower classes into believing upward mobility exists, when in fact for the most part it doesn't.
