alcohol is garbage. tastes like crap

That's because you northerners drink industrial shit made of potato and cereals, disguisting.

Since you are from Sweden, you surely know someone originating from Bosnia. Get him to bring you some domestic fruit schnapps a.k.a. "rakia" (ideally made of plum or quince) and see how a consuming alcohol should taste.

that could absolutely be the case, absolute vodka, i mean that tastes like puke.

At least wine tastes better, but still not really a fan.

They call it an acquired taste. It hits hard at first, then you learn to appreciate it. But what matters most to people more than taste, is that they're mellowed or knocked the fuck out by it.

i drank alcohol from 18-30'ish, weekly almost when i was 18-23 or so. never learned to like it haha. of course, when you are drunk enough you don't care as much... i have so many nights which is just a black hole, very scary shit.. i've used most drugs and alcohol to me is the worst. i used to grow weed, shrooms... weed is more fun to grow than to smoke imo. it hits so differently, often it just makes me tired, and sometimes for days, no thanks. when good (maybe 1 out of 10 times) it's amazing though. shrooms - memories for life, just like LSD..

I only drink alcohol once a month or even less to get mildly drunk (not wasted). It's a good pleasurable feeling. See nothing bad in it. Of course i understand my organism is basically working in "limp mode"

But i do coke more often due to long work hours. Helps me keep being focused and more productive. I rarely do it in the office, and my colleagues don't notice it. That's a good thing to have your own personal office room:)

The naughtiest thing I've ever done, is using speed.
I made me fall asleep. I have never slept so nicely.
Normally (without alcohol or drugs) falling asleep takes 30 minutes or more.
And then in the morning it takes 30 minutes or so to wear off the groggyness.
That night on speed, I laid down and fell asleep.
I woke up some seven hours later and felt perfectly fine.
I quit experimenting with drugs after that encounter.

Quit experimenting, as in the tests are done and the conclusion has been found?

- OBSERVATION: There must be a thing to this drug stuff. People claim it is awesome.
- HYPOTHESIS: I believe there can be one for me I enjoy.
- PREDICTION: I will narrow down 1 or more that I do find enjoyable myself.
- EXPERIMENT: Try a lot of them and observe results.
- CONCLUSION: Alcohol by far is the one of choice for me.

Well alcohol is legal and I can buy it here in the local supermarket for 23 euro cent a bottle (30 cl).
Not drinking or doing drugs would probably the best choice.

I didn't look like tablets.
Medication for ADHD: methylphenidate or dextrose-amphetamine.

Edit: methylphenidate is a dopamine reuptake inhibitor, dextrose-amphetamine is a stimulant.

Maybe you have adhd without realising it. Speed works differently than for other people. Rilatin is basically legalized speed. Very Happy

Ya dexamphetamine is speed and massively over prescribed here. If you go to doctor and say you can't concentrate blah blah = u have ADHD or autism here and get a perpetual speed prescription.

I have never understood that.
Like, why the fuck would anyone continue drinking something they don't like, just so they can get used to it?

Haha, it's a taste you can acquire by drinking one glass, the rest go down much more smoothly and easily Very Happy

More seriously speaking, I figure the goal is to get to enjoy something you couldn't before in order to enjoy something new ? It is incredible counterintuitive but it can work out as well. Didn't really enjoy coffee before but now I drink it black and enjoy it from time to time.. I'm glad I went through my initial dislike of it because it's brought me something new I like (and coffee is a vast subject).
I also find that our tastes change with age, sugar comes to be less appealing, some ingredients/tastes you didn't really like become more interesting.. Razz

I'm perceived as a heretic around these parts because 'food & wine' is practically both a doctrine and the main source of income for most people but in all honesty, I don't enjoy wine, beer, and most alcoholic beverages. I can tolerate* them to a degree and even partake in some festive events, though I generally prefer to drink good ol' water instead. Don't have other vices either so that about covers it.

*I don't mind a glass of Prosecco for instance (dry sparkling wine) since it's quite gentle, as well as the extra-sweet Passito when eating some dessert Razz
