The smart move would have to apologized during the acceptance speech. I understand they've been the butt of harsh jokes for years now. It's a rough joke, a disability that targets their vanity (so a huge problem for a famous person), not as bad as a parkinsons joke or your wife can't walk anymore, but I can see why he'd get so pissed.
I don't think i could get insulted with a net worth of 250+ million to compensate for it.

No because it's just as unimportant a world event as this is. (we'll some of them are filmed, youtube 'bar fight' I suppose and you can find some other unimportant events of people slapping at each other).
But humans gonna human I suppose, and gossip is high on the list of pleasurable activities they do right under sex on the list. And i know its just my outlook: Confusion of how what people well known for reading lines from a script do, is anymore important than what non-famous people do. Obsession of observation of celebrities going ons, genuinely feels like an alien concept to me.
