This one says shader compilation issues. So who's lying ? Two reviews say it runs perfect. The dumbass doesnt even mention stutters, he says he cant get a higher framerate than 50 on a 2080TI. The ars tweet says compilation issues. Other pc outlets like PC Gamer or PC GamesN dont mention performance at all, but i would think if it was stuttering every 5 seconds they'd mention it.
You're severely overestimating the ability for games "journalists" to do their job properly mate.
Watching ShillUps video it was clear it was stuttering and going below 60 at multiple times, I didn't even need to hear it from him, I saw it clearly.
But who knows, maybe it's just his PC. I doubt it though.
Either way, it's just a purchase on Steam and refund if it performs badly... No risk.
The devs of new game Stray confirmed that its PC version currently has shader compilation stutter issues and sent me a statement: "The team is planning a post-launch patch to fix a number of issues. They hope to be able to handle this at that time if possible." No time estimate. https://t.co/0uOYIfOfJw

weird that some people got problems and others don't.
is it maybe just with older gpus? or just amd or nvidia?
even gamestar.de said there are no performance issues
It might be something else then. Shader compilation stutter is baked into the game, there's no such thing as i have it and i don't. 100% of people have it. If that is what the problem is here. Who knows at this point

Pey failed us all
To be honest, I didn't have any stuttering issues at all.
I played for a bit, just the intro. There are shader compilation issues for sure. A single frametime spike now and then, seems to be when you enter a new area. But its so small and rare that i can see why a lot of reviews dont mention it. Its certainly one of the more mellow cases of this stutter plague. I would call it a non issue, at least from what i played.
Played for an hour or so and not a single stutter in sight
Look again! It MUST be there.
We NEED to have something to complain about!11
It's short - 5 hours to beat.

I mean if it stutters it stutters and if the devs made a mistake somewhere then they need to fix it. Sticking head in sand pretending everything is perfect because you're hyped serves no good. I just personally have no problems. Smooth as butter, but my pc is quite high end
I think this might be why we're not seeing many issues. The yaaar p2p version from yesterday launches in DX11. And when you go to DX 12, besides the performance being cut by two thirds, look how that frametime graph looks like.
