I have a healing mod on my revolver, but since its a static effect, it's not very good in that area where you fight the adds. I think there's some sort of regen as well, trait or armor set, but I don't think it will be enough. Either way, the fight is so fuckin' tedious and long, I'm sure I'll make a mistake from the frustration of fighting for 20+ minutes. I'm trying to set up a group, maybe we can kill the adds faster and get higher stacks this way.

@Nodrim
There is a special armor that regenerates health over time. I dunno how good it is though.
Spoiler: | In the Wailing Woods there is an area where you find a Root that is under a crane. When you enter the area it will begin a metamorphosis. You have to kill all the random enemies it sends at you and you will unlock the ability to craft a full set of “Twisted armor |
I think this encounter is random

The coop multiplayer scaling system isn't very good.
PS The devs explain how leveling works
| Quote: |
Every area has a minimum level. If you do not upgrade your weapons and armor, you will get destroyed. Example: World Boss for City is level 5 minimum. If you don't uprgade anything and get to the World Boss, they will be level 5, you will be level 1 or 2. You'll be doing way less damage, taking way more damage.
You absolutely have to upgrade.
On top of that, you get Mods, Traits, Armor Skills, Items, etc... which enemies do not. While each time they scale up in a new zone, you overpower them with your combination of gear and traits.
EDIT: I put up a post on how it works, exactly. https://www.reddit.com/r/remnantgame/comments/crs0i3/level_scaling_information/

This game sounds - as most releases nowadays - like a polished BETA. After some patches I am sure it will be a much better experience.

It needs content updates. But the game also needs a balance rework because the scaling makes the gameplay less rewarding and it can also ruin the coop experience.

Wait is this coop only like Vermintide and such? No interest atm if it's not playable solo tbh.

It's playable in solo, I finished it alone on the Hard difficulty.

Vermintide isn't co-op only.
Also, this game needed some closed and/or open-beta testing in the hands of people not so closely connected to the product. I'm not saying anything is fundementally broken here, but some of the game design is questionable. The level scaling is definitely one that I'm not too much a fan of. It feels like a cheap way to keep the game "challenging" for players (you can still outlevel a current level) instead of baking that into the core gameplay itself.
Also, adds simply popping up as a gun resource is silly; if that's true then they need to be toned way the hell down in terms of damage done. Most co-op will wipe on the first couple of bosses because they'll be trying to control the battlefield; I saw a post on ResetEra from I guess one of the developers that basically said "well you can just kite the boss and ignore the adds" which sounds like the most boring gameplay ever. I'm on the third fog door, and I'll be damned if the bullet-sponge nature of adds combined with the waves of adds isn't making me want to just peace out on the game.

Game looks epic on the trailer, but when you play it, its so repetive boring crap, would love to have FOV slider, character takes like half of the screen at times, its ridiculous.

From the Steam forums. Not tested, though.

It's kinda entertaining in co-op.
I wouldn't buy it for playing solo.
PS The lack of any kind of chat is utterly ridiculous especially if you join public games.
We wasted 20+ minutes on the last boss doing absolutely nothing to him coz I couldn't tell the other guys that they should get damage buff by killing as many mobs as they could in the dimension where the boss kept teleporting them.
PS Performance is not good considering the visuals and the engine used.
Some areas are fine, but others suck, for instance, the swamp area.

The gameplay designers at Gunfire Games take things a bit too far in terms of difficulty. They clearly want to make challenging games but they do so without matching an exact gameplay with fair encounters. Darksiders had similar issues in this regard and nothing has changed with Remnant. Some encounters are fun and well designed, while other are extremely imbalanced relying only on overwhelming the player through numbers.
Spamming mobs and scaling difficulty do point at a somewhat lazy design meant to accommodate faster the transition from solo to coop. The nightmare difficulty accentuates these problems a great deal.
There's also the low FOV and 3D sound localization which deprive the players from visual and audio cues. Bosses can sneak up on you...
The people at Gunfire are clearly talented, but they should focus more on refining their designs, that's how you take on Dark Souls.

It was a bit amusing as there was an official stream of this on the Perfect World Twitch channel the other day and only 6 people were watching. Random no name streamers seem to get more viewers watching them play it.

Finished the story.
Combat makes it enjoyable even when playing solo, but some of the copy/paste on the maps brings the game down a bit. Story is meh and the world needed some more placed loot to encourage exploration but they did a decent work and since it's still early access maybe the devs will turn it around.

The decision to opt for procederpurally generated levels in this game absolutely murdered the fun for me
There is no organic design, only paths made of simple quadrilateral assets and invisible walls that don't make the exploration rewarding at all, as it's all about linearly chasing the inevitable yellow door with the checkpoint behind it. While the shooting feels good despite the consolitis of the entire thing and bosses are interesting, everything else is a giant bag of cheap filler contents from Tesco Souls. It still qualifies as a 6/10 time waster but damn, it's such a wasted opportunity.

If you don't want to waste too much of your time, you can use this website: https://hzla.github.io/Remnant-World-Analyzer/
It analyzes your save and tells you what kind of areas, items, bosses, events, etc. you'll get in your playthrough.
