The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.

I was going to post about how people are overreacting as usual but I just read the actual description and Laughing How did this happen in the first place! Laughing

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."
"...like nothing else on television."
"a phenomenon."
"A tangled tale of sex, violence, power, junk food..."
"Like Nothing On Earth"

The business model of this game looks like absolute cancer. This is a buy to play game that has buy-able card packs (lootboxes) and steam market support.

afaik you cant gain cards by simply playing the game you have ot buy them or the card packs and additionally you have to pay for the game. even hearthstone has a more friendly business model....

Funny how all the whales on the artifact forumsare defending this crap and claiming that it is realistic since it emulates a real life tcg. (what morons)

Some funny quote:
Quote:
2. "Whales have better cards than me since I don't want to spend". - I'm sorry your feelings got hurt, but that's life. As stated above, Artifact tries to be as much as possible an IRL TCG, and in those, of course players with bigger pockets will have better cards. Deal with it.

I'm pretty sure this will fail big-time, precisely due to the business model.

Gameplay is great but without any progression system I got no incentive to play more Smile

You know it's quality journalism when you can't find the phrasing "pay to win". In fact, the whole review felt more apologetic than anything else.

Sure, but there are degrees of pay to win and Artifact is at the top of the list.

Not really.

It does have horrible pricing, though. Tickets should be given out for free(a couple every week or so)/not exist at all. Already paid for the game, so it shouldn't be more restrictive than literally every other card game out there.

Yes, really, considering that every other CCG worth mentioning is free to play and you can earn boosters for free.

Quote:
Two complete decks, ten booster packs, and five tickets (used for playing competitive modes). This is more than a $20 value considering the booster packs alone would cost that much, and tickets also cost money.

What a moron.

Quote:
So even playing the game costs money in the form of tickets?

Competitively, yes. However, you can play an unlimited amount in casual play without spending any extra money.

Yes because people will pay $20 to play casually with the same starter deck over and over and over. Like how Magic players just use a starter deck *facepalms*

Quote:
The bottom line is there is plenty here to keep you busy without spending any extra money unless you're very interested in building your own decks and playing with them.

More bullshit. "here's 2% of the game's content. You don't HAVE to spend money, really, if you're happy with just the 2%!"

The moron bitches about being colour blind but the biggest issues he neglects to mention?

Seriously, this game should have been free for the basic set that you get now with $20 for a starting bundle that gives you quite a bit of packs cheaply. Valve really are losing the plot if they don't get the basics of enticing people in with F2P .

It's funny how Wizards managed to pull off a solid free to play model with MTGA and Valve didn't manage as much with a buy to play model. Laughing

How they could be that stupid? They could earn a fortune by giving game for free and sell hats and other stuff like in Dota2. I don't understand this.

Aye, or if they just adopted the HS model, there's enough of a market for both games. I genuinely think I'd alternate between this and HS if the models were the same.

It was in development for several years, therefore not a cash grab or they would have released it quickly a good 1-2 years earlier.

Of course it was a cash grab, otherwise they'd make something other than a card game. Dota perhaps? Ohh, they've already made a cash grab of that as well. Valve as a game developer sucks
