You can jump with F and dodgeroll with space. However I've not seen any obstacle in the game so far that would require jumping.

That's not how jumping is usually used in open world games, it's used as means for exploration, as a way of climbing often. That's why it's important to have because it opens up the game a ton. But if its not possible to use it like that then it's rather worthless.

I dunno. I coupd explore The Long Dark just fine without jumping. It's all about level design.

I'd love to hear how crash-prone this is for others though.

I found it really odd how you couldnt jump or climb in a game about exploration and wild life, it took me out of the experience a lot Sad He also craved food like someone who's extremely obese, he would be so full of that food that he would barely be able to walk.. maybe that's why he can't jump... i'm fasting for 4-5 days sometimes, it does wonders for energy actually. food is very overrated unless you are e.g very sick or you are just skin and bones to begin with. (sorry for very OT)

That line that decreases your total health is corruption right? I notice it increases when trying to cleanse areas. How can you remove or reduce that?

The game has the ability to look promising at first, it has a gritty atmosphere and the concept of surviving in frozen hostile lands among rabid supernatural beasts is captivating. Problem is, as time passes the elements that form its gameplay progressively disclose lack of depth and pretty severe repetition, turning the experience into a mundane chore.

The world design and cookie cutter exploration with the myriad of icons and shallow tasks reminded me of the Ubiformula (never a positive sensation), with the combat "system" and AI patterns that are very simplistic as well. Every action feels consolish, bland and surrounded by an unrewarding aura, 'tis a missed opportunity. Faded to Silence

It's the effect of frost/hypothermia, you can restore it (albeit very slowly Razz) through resting in heated places or simply by using tonics (the ones that restore your max health). Once you have more resources you can also craft a specific fur lining that protects you better from the cold.
@Zmed: no crashes for me yet (about 5-6 hours in), though I'm going to press the shift-delete escape pod button soon
