Considering Capcom hasn't C&D'd the retexture of RE4 - a game which they plan to port another 928493840932 times in the future compared to RE3 which they haven't ported it to a new system since 2003, I'd say not very likely.
But even if it happens, I have a copy in my hard drive, and their work is fully complete and finished, so it's too late to C&D anything now.

They did a "soft" C&D of RE2 Remake though which is why we now have official RE2 remake and Daymare bootleg.

That was a full blown *remake* though, bringing RE2 in a modern engine, with modern perspective, modern controls, modern gameplay (even though it looked and played terribly if you ask me), very much what Capcom would also be doing with their own attempt, therefore they had reason to want to take it down.
This just updates the backgrounds of a 20 year old game to have better resolution. It's nowhere near what a rumored thRE3make is going to offer.

Sure, but if Capcom marketing team decided that this small mod steals some thunder from upcoming RE3 they might pull the plug.
Anyway, I do think it is unlikely and since it seems to be already release it does not matter, nothing disappears from interwebs
