Maybe actually read my posts and then realize why your comment is absolutely unnecessary. Then again I'm not sure why I should give a damn what you think about it because you're in the minority here.

I'd like Max Payne 4 to be about Mona with Max helping her out a bit because I don't want the dude to have to deal with a crisis of his own for the 4th time. Give the guy a break! But being called to help, that's okay. Have ~30-40% of the game be with Max, the rest with Mona. The game opens with Max (so that it can justify the "Max Payne" title) in media res, then moves earlier with Mona, in the middle of it we catch up to the present and we play Max, then Mona again, the pre-final chapter is with Max and then final one is with Mona because it's her story, so she should be the one wrapping it up. But because Max Payne cannot sell as much as GTA I don't think Rockstar will be planning a new one anytime soon. Unless they make it play like GTA or something in which case I'm out.

When there was action the game was great but the cutscenes ruined it all.

Obviously, when I'm posting, I'm posting my own opinion. Redundant to type it out each time. MP3 was shit: gameplay was worse than originals, narrative was a lot worse, characters unimaginative, Max himself lost his edge. Everything was wrong with that game.

Don't agree. Story telling was better, Max lost his edge which was the narrative point and the gameplay felt weightier with better implementation. Something Remedy seem to have emulated in the movement of the character in Quantum Break as well as Rockstar continuing to use it for the shooting mechanics in GTA V.
Max was more fleshed out than he'd ever been. I like it more and is my favourite. It is what it is.

Max Payne, Alan Wake developer Remedy working on a new cinematic third-person game for PC, PS4, Xbox One

Quote:
Remedy and 505 Games have entered into a new partnership, through which the publisher will fund development of the next game from the makers of Alan Wake, Max Payne, and Quantum Break.

505 games is investing €7.75 million into the game’s development, due for release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The unannounced project, codenamed P7, is a new IP built with the Northlight engine. This the engine Quantum Break is based on, the same one Remedy ported to PS4 earlier this year.

The new game is a described as a cinematic third-person action game set in a new universe. Interestingly, the press release describes P7 as having the deepest game mechanics yet in a Remedy game.

No other details about the project, or when we expect to hear more, were shared.

Alan wake was amazing. It had the special remedy touch. I put it just as high as max payne 1 and 2.

But qb was traaaash

Disagree, qb had a phenomenal story, some great artistic design and it was a great experience. Sadly you could tell it was really rushed and they had to cut a chunk out.

I disliked both. The stories felt much too contrived to me, almost like they were improvised over the basic gameplay idea (like, using flashlight on the enemies or manipulating time). Admittedly, I gave up on Alan Wake after only about an hour or so while I gave QB much more time due to a better produced story until finally giving up due to the IMHO bland and repetitive gameplay (I'd rather just watch it as a TV show).

On the other hand, Max Payne 3 had no story to speak of (was a Max Payne game only in name) ending up as a disposable third person action game. At least Remedy tries with something new, though perhaps they try too much with some new concepts (it's like they were inspired by Primer for the QB) instead of focusing on what worked well with MP.

Max Payne 2 was awesome, though. A shame it didn't sell thus causing Remedy to dump the franchise.

I enjoyed TV show for what it was.
But gameplay was super stale for me. Also, there was not enough detail in the world.

And Time story was done way better in other games like Timeshift

They should do what they do best, slow motion action fest ala Max Payne (Quantum Break had amazing effects at times, game itself was pretty nice but had some crappy console feel on it and port was so bad, still havent finished it).

Remedy have simply lost their identity in my opinion, perhaps permanently. Okay The cinematization process started to show itself with Alan Wake (which I still enjoyed quite a lot, despite the cheap/badly-written story), but reached its climax with Quantum Break that brought the merging of television and gaming to a whole new level of non-interactivity, automatization and passiveness.

For many that's a more immersive formula and way to construct an involving narrative, but for my own grumpy self it's an unnecessary (annoying) bastardization aimed at pleasing the mainstream audience that absolutely pales when compared to masterpieces like MP1 and 2, where the two aspects (shooting and narrative) kept their own different natures intact without having such an awkward 69.

Max Payne 3 had its own share of invasive cuntscenes as well, but R*'s attempt still managed to feel like a traditional old-school third person shooter not watered down and not entirely designed around the gamepad and the couch room. Aside from personal tastes involving the story/writing (which I liked), that aforementioned aspect alone was a giant plus for me, and the main complain that I have about the modern Remedy.
