Just because some rules that weren't enforced ages ago but that still stand are now being followed by the new moderators it doesn't make them "power crazy"

I'm taking a guess...
But I think it has more to do with the intention of the trolling one does rather than it being trolling. As in: Are you doing it to antagonize (starting a fight) or is just some harmless banter. A lot of times it seems it's to rile someone up so I think it's that kind of behaviour they are after (generally speaking btw).
That being said: Some posts being moved to the void isn't the end of the world and reporting to make a point isn't helpful. Better just ask what the problem is and if it's not clear ask them to clarify it.
And to clarify: The VIP is far from being a circlejerk that some might think, there is a lot of different views on things. Wouldn't have it the other way!
