Regarding the car: My biggest fear was as well to buy a used car that'll brake down on me. I bought my Fiat at 96.000km and fearing the worst as I heard many terrible things about Fiats, I was worried and went online to check what they say about the Bravo. Turns out the Bravo was the best car Fiat built in a long time and it was really easy to maintain. Now it has 150.000km two years later. I used it heavily and only did the necessary. It has scratches, I hit another cars bumper, the sun blend on the right side is broken (my brother in law just opened and closed it until the metal broke ), so is the cigarette lighter (that is actually one thing that broke without any outer force) and air conditioning (the owner before me had a small fender bender as well and so I guess the radiator grill lost those tiny lamella) but I'll sell the car in a month and I'll sell it for 2000 less than I bought it and I'm not even mad about it. The car drove me everywhere fucking reliable, hit 200 without even complaining and even endured a 17 hour non-stop trip to Tuscany where I drove 180 on german autobahns for several hours, drove up and down hill through the alps with 4 people and a lot of baggage without a hassle, had terrible stop and go in Italy until Verona (200 KM!! Stop and go from 0 to 100 to 0 to 100 to 0 to 100 ...) and endured the shitty roads without any asphalt too.
Just read reviews of other owners, read some on the magazines and decide for your next buy. Test drive the car and if your gut feeling says no, just try another one until you found the right car
The first Bravo that I test drove looked nicer, was 2 years younger, had less km and 150PS (compared to my 120PS). But whenever I hit the clutch it felt as if there was something spinning under my left foot. I said fuck it and did not buy the car even though it had a 1 year guarantee from the dealership. Then I bought my car from some other dude who was honest. I forgot to ask him how many people owned the car before and he reminded me of that and said that it were probably 3, so he was the fourth and I was the fifth. But the car drove great, he showed the damage that happened at his accident and was all open about the shortcomings.
BTW In germany we have independent companies where you can bring the car to during a test drive and a mechanic will take a look and tell you if the car had any previous damage and if there is anything that needs to be done asap etc for less than 50€.
TLDR; Read about the car you want to buy in magazines & forums. Register at those forums and ask the owners about what you have to keep in mind when buying a used one at xxx.xxxKM and what type of maintenance awaits you. If you still want the car, go test-drive and take the car that feels just right
Good luck!

Any recent car (ok, almost any) can be fairly reliable with proper maintenance and basic care (as in don't drive like a fucking maniac --just maniac is ok, a fucking maniac is too much--). When buying a used car I always set aside a certain amount (maybe 10~20% of the price) for immediate maintenance (at least change all fluids, check the brakes, clutch, battery, etc). Even when buying an old junk (LADA) I was never stranded, I just had to replace many parts right away (carburetor, hydraulics of brakes and clutch, etc) but after that it was fine...

Not the right horse to bet on. Open world and them having to ease everything down might actually make this Witcher game more boring compared to the others.
I'm still hoping for the best, but with how it's set up it could actually become a Witcher we didn't want.

Hopefully it's just a myth , however I'm pretty sure I'll keep playing video games till my body physically lets me. The fact that I'll likely never have a retirement fund is a burden though, no happy pensioner life with 24 hours of free time and hookers :<

The good part is that by the time we are unable to we can resort to playing games on consoles. Should get us through our 80's when we aren't as quick any more.
Hell, if we fall into a coma I bet we could still get some Xbawx going on.
