I was kinda skeptical but the little pre-alpha was more entertaining than I imagined. Even simple Pew Pew without nextjenny cinematicsauce is enough to make smile these days xD
Not that this game is particularly good, on the contrary, but the fact that the situation when it comes to solid first person shooters is completely void at the moment surely is helping a lot *melodramatic trombone*
Looks like it's shaping up pretty well. I don't really like how floaty everything looks and feels though.
If you actually do miss the original quake though go and play arcane dimensions. It's a tc/mod for q1 that came out a few months ago. Some of the best modders from quake teamed up and did a great job making it. The quality is outstanding.
It has all new enemies + levels + textures etc etc. I had no idea a quake mod could be that good.
All you need is quakespasm and the original quake to get it going.
The dynamic of the combat tickles all the right places.

Quake 2 seems better than this in every possible way, even graphics. I'm all for 90's throw back but it would have to be meet Q2 level or surpass it for me.
Show that game to someone in '97, tell them it came out in 2017, tell them they need 1000x (literally 100 vs 100 000 MPix) stronger gpu than available at the time, see them take their lives
