Hey guess what?! Satisfactory is coming to Steam on Monday, June 8 (for realz)!

About..damn..time.
Only problem for me now is, not sure if I want it. I want the game itself (at least the idea of it) but the upside of the team taking so long to get it to steam and me not wanting it on EGS is I get to see how snarky, disorganized, and cat herding they are about things.

The problem with restarting the game now is having to go and get all the harddrives again. Its just so tedious. Very Happy

UE is pretty shitty when it comes to procedural generation so it'll probably never happen, although I have seen a couple procedural terrain demos so it not impossible i guess.. static maps are why I still haven't bothered with satisfactory, else i probably would have bought it by now. logistic games suck with static environments.
that and it still isn't on steam Laughing

I would suggest proc maps wouldn't work very well with this particular game, in that there are areas deliberately blocked off until you get the required tech. And I suspect coding that in to be 100% reliable would be very difficult - unless you used cookie cutter sections... in which case it would probably look even worse.

Besides, each map does give it's own unique challenges. MY only real complaint is the lack of fauna variety... I really wish each world had it's own set of creates and plantlife.

I'd like it to be a lot more like Factorio Smile I.e. with actual combat and danger. Oh and eventually an actual goal.

There is an actual goal... when it's completely finished (creating the Project ) but we don't yet know what it is. Which is kinda the point I guess Very Happy

There is definitely danger and some combat... but I think I'd like to see perhaps damage and perhaps defensive equipment 'electric fences, turrets...)

Tougher enemys, defenses etc. wont happen since the game is more focused on the building aspect and therefore wont follow was factorio has in that regard.

They just stated that in one of the recent videos.

Combat should be made optional, for sure. At least for me, it's not what attracted me to the game.

Something that might help (me) would be a bird's eye view when constructing. Right now it takes hours to get even a simple assembly line going if you want the alignment and aestethics done somewhat right.

Peace mode, there. Easy solution.

Anyway, as much as I WANT to love this game, I just can't.

Stuff is just too big. You end up with all those HUGE factory complexes, that barely produce anything...

I hope they add flying machines and a "build mode". E.g. in Empyrion, you can use a drone to fly around your char to build stuff (even mine etc).

Dont think they are a fan of it but who knows, they said no to fluids and tubes aswell and update 3 brought them in. If something like that is planned it prolly take a bit as there are other features needed and asked for.

I still like the game.. nothing more satisfying than having 4 floors of a mega factory complex... to output a single item that's needed for another mega complex to produce...another single item to feed into the big machine.

I was hoping for a bigger discount, 10% off after a year of exclusivity seems pretty small.

I'm kinda disappointed that they did not wait for 1.0 for steam release. There is such a $$$ whore smell from this.

The game is good don't get me wrong. They did copy the formula well, from Factorio to 3D. But going for so long and EGL and then release on Steam, with WIP in-game assets. That´s just wrong Sad

Did they even updated this in a while?

Rohhh com'on !

Game is excellent (even in its WIP state) and 26.99€ is actually a fair price for a such addictive and time consuming game Smile

And I re-bought it ! Just so I can finally get rid of that EGS shit launcher Laughing

People have asked for Steam release since ages, its just normal that they now gp for the extra cash at steam after the deal with EGS ended. Apart from that the 1.0 release is still far away.

And yes, they update the experimental branch every week.

I find the whining in here regarding this game somewhat uncalled for. This whole Epic thing is becoming almost mandatory.

Devs like to make money. As long as it isn't via microtransaction bullshit and lootbox bollocks - oh and not forgetting pre-order scamming, I don't really see what the hate is for.

Well, it's a cause-effect relationship. Devs decided to take the shortcut through Uncle Scrooge's Epic-yard of hostile exclusivity in order to achieve what they desired, and potential customers decided to act the same way by taking the passage through the high seas. Maybe now that the exile is over some of us will press the purchase button, or maybe not. Will the game even see a proper 1.0 release? That could be a deciding factor for many.

While the game looks (very Very Happy) interesting, I'm still waiting for it to reach the finished version before actually investing my time on the isodemo.

Even if the game never gets finished its still quite addictive in its current state. I seriously hope it gets finished though. I want to build a world spanning network of factories some day with one central hub etc. But not until its done.
