After 4 episodes (that I have seen) it's had ups and downs, second episode was the worst in the series (just too weak) but the next 2, even though slowish had the usual grittiness we usually expect from Gomorra.
OMG, what a f...ing episode! The best of the season by far. Kept me on the edge of my seat nearly the whole time.
I was rooting for...
Spoiler:
Enzo the whole time, and was so relieved to see him come out of it alive (for now ) thanks to Valerio's sacrfice, though now he'll have to stay in hiding.
Looking forward to what comes next and then the conclusion.
And there goes the second best actor in the show. That was cold, even by Gennaro's standards. And I guess next season Blue Blood will rename to Out for Blood
Definitely the weakest season so far, even though it's still better than almost everything else on tv. I rhink it was the weakest based mainly on the fact that it was less street and more factions and bosses, though with what happened in the finale I think they could put the focus back on the street next season.
Also, I'll just leave this here and go

A maronn', that was one hell of a rollercoaster. S04 had to bring some (rather inevitable) changes and perhaps it felt like the Fillers and their lousy family were taking over Secondigliano, but thankfully the second half of the season restored the good old vicious style that makes Gomorra so unique and bleak.
I basically echo what 4treyu said, even though the story was weaker and naturally less cohesive than the previous years, it was still extremely enjoyable and superior to any modern competitor in the genre in my opinion. All the characters had their own little arc, with few radiant moments and lots of sullen ones as the tradition dictates.
Spoiler:
"Per quelli come noi, i sogni non esistono"
The last episode hit me right in the feels, absolutely loved Patrizia. Valerio's demise felt very melancholic as well, he was one of the few characters that could offer multiple layers different from the usual low-level lackey ones.
Now I'm expecting Sangue Blu to lose the other eye too, become a cripple and eventually rule Secondigliano forever

Is the guy playing Gennaro still crap?
He's gotten better, especially after the events in S03 where his character has evolved in a way that suits the emotionless expression more. He's never really annoyed me though, not even when he was supposed to be "edgier" (sort of xD).
There's a hardcoded version at 1337X, though it's only 720p as far as I can tell. Better to grab a decentish BluRay rip (Prometheus, Novarip etc.) and download English subtitles manually from opensubtitles/addic7ed/subscene.
It was an average season, mainly due to bad writing. I thought it was very predictable, especially how specific characters suddenly get a lot of screentime a single episode so a point can be made that ep. You could see the deaths of most big characters coming from miles away. The story also wasn't interesting or coherent, it just worked. Enzo become a complete moron this season, but I guess that's logical since Ciro had 99% of the brains between the two. Gennaro doing his thing wasn't interesting to watch. Patrizia was basically the only storyline I actually liked, even though that again was cliche after cliche.
I felt like I was watching children trying to imitate grown ups that came and left (S1 and S2), so it was meh.
It isn't far off from the truth, the official law enforcement agency just recently discovered a racket involving dozens of people and seized thousands of stolen masks and sanitizing gels that were being sold for exorbitant prices (up to €5k each! )
HBO Max has released the official trailer for “The Immortal,” the combination prequel and sequel movie to the Italian crime drama series “Gomorrah”. This will explore the early life of lead character Ciro Di Marzio (Marco D’Amore). D’Amore co-wrote and directs the film which will be released on July 29th exclusively on HBO Max.
The movie is definitely worth watching, it's like having two additional episodes of the show merged into a single entity (Ciro's origins + well well well ). I grabbed it back when it was released here, it pretty much functions as a bridge between the 4th season and the upcoming one.
