Good interview. It answers various questions about the plot and explains/clarifies a few things.. Only read it after you finished the game..

YA: We received more positive feedback from players on the decision to offer the episodic option than we anticipated, so to that point, I think we’ve seen some solid results. We’ve also learned a lot from doing this and there are some things that worked great, and others that we would need to improve on for the future. Regardless of how the content is delivered, if we are able to create a new story, I would definitely want to continue the “return to roots” and “homage to past titles” formula that has become a trademark of the Revelations series now.

Decided to play this game. What a terrible performance! Even with the 4.1 update it's still a pile of stuttering, ups and downs frame rate crap. Capcom, you assholes!
/me puts this game on the shelf for better days

After months of abusingly occupying my hard disk I finished this one. As far as the watered evils go, it wasn't too terrible
The game has a decent atmosphere and some acceptable level design all things considered, very linear but more various/interesting than the first Revelations' in my opinion. However, as always, the woody animations, no sense of weight/physicality whatsoever are also part of the 'experience' and spoil the party. There isn't another way to put it, the engine and its on-rail structure feels limited and cheap. Couple that with the terribly nausea-inducing FOV (unacceptable for a PC game from 2015 and a definite gamebreaker since there's no way of fixing/modding it) and
If you manage to tolerate that disgrace, the co-op-y way of handling the four protagonists and constant switching are thankfully handled in a decent way (with the first chapter being the weakest one), and the basic environmental puzzles to alternate the pew-pew sections and bosses are always welcome.
As for the story, completely bonkers, as per Resident Evil tradition. Especially the epilogue that kept getting exponentially worse - or better, depending on the perspective - and unintentionally comical with dialogues that I can't even xD. Still, I would rate it ~6,5/10, which is 3,5 points more than RE6 so it's an improvement.

Mouse controls are couchesque indeed, but I didn't dislike them too much..sort of. I remember that I disabled the 'fast mouse' option, played with the sensitivity a bit and managed to 'adapt' to them. But then again I play anything with m&kb, even finished Dark Souls 1 with the Mfix, my tolerance for shitty controls is quite high (still better than using a gamepad )

No FOV fix alas.. I tried to search for a solution everywhere because I couldn't stand its horrible glued-to-the-screen-ess, and while there's one available for the first Revelations, no one even bothered with this one. *shame!*
It's a slightly different game than the first. Original was (or felt) more action driven, this one was a bit more towards survival horror, with the scarce ammo and healing items (at least for the first two eps anyway), but in the end both are much better than the latest abortions in the mains series.
Also, only realized it towards the end but this is resident evil in a stalker-ish setting, and that is a huge plus.
Upgrades felt a bit tacked on this time and it's a bit weird saying that, since in theory with the scarce ammo they would seem like they would make a big difference. Skills were utter crap though (evade, better evade, crouch evade, balls evade, etc etc) and the somewhat randomly generated items were a bit of an annoyance due to that... "hey another gem with BP for useless shit skills instead of some ammo, yay "
The switch characters mecahnics were also nice for the most part, although moira (fucking terrible character, urgh) was not as useful as natalia. The latter's mechanic of spotting the larvae/invisible bugs for barry to shoot was a good idea, but if they had more enemy variety it would work out even better.
The item discovery and pointing bits felt like they were there just to extend the play time, but with the great atmosphere and good pacing that turned out okay.
Maybe it's just me but claire was hot as hell. And even more with that short hair in the end hhhhhhnnnnnghh
Hopefully crapcom realizes that they are on track with this and doesn't fuck it up on the next one(s).
