some people use the term "bad graphics" way too often imo. TPdoes not have "bad graphics". Just as timeshift or other "mid value soft" fps don't have "bad graphics". I much rather call them "graphics accessible for the average persons computer".
Anyway, i played a bit (like 30 minutes or so i think, not much free time lately, and even less motivation to play games) and i liked it so far.

Who the hell said Timeshift had "bad graphics"?
Timeshift's graphics were FANTASTIC. Far better than the "shiny, god-rayzzzz" trash that is Crysis, IMO.

Im sorry, did you just said, timeshift has better graphics then Crysis? :O
Timeshift is a satisfatory game, but is a mediocre game at best, thats why it received reviews @ 70% or less...

i was comparing the games, not the graphics. And One may argue about the gfx, but i prefer the gfx in timeshift to crysis. why ? Because it looks good, yet runs on mostly any average pc out there without making it crawl (you do need a top of the line high end pc to run crysis ... more or less smooth). Thats part of the pc game problem.. devs making gfx for future or top end hardware, instead of for actually used ones.
Oh and there is no contest in gameplay/-mechanics, story, and simply the FUN when comparing timeshift (in this example) to Crysis (also in this example). Crysis had a stupid story, stupid gameplay/-mechanics and just wasn't fun.
But i am sure someone will come back and start a big argument about the gfx ... Cause sadly that seems to be the only thing some people judge games ...

You guys know you are talking about games right!. Its not some political or ideological concept. Its just for fun, and you can simply turn off your PC and walk away...good GFX or not, its still a game. And in some months there will be another...and another. Probably with better (relative) GFX/game play etc etc.

I understood your point, you like timeshift better then Crysis, thats OK.
What you needed to say is not "timeshift has better gfx then crysis" , but this "timeshift has a nice optmized game engine, and crysis not" , then i would get your point.

BUT you compared TIMESHIFT GFX TO CRYSIS
, and you can run scream, say want you want to say, Crysis GFX are the best EVER in a game, it can require a mainframe to run it well, but the most realistic gfx ever made, are the Crysis graphics....

Yes, it is true. Crysis was typically "HDR God-Rayzzzzzz!!!" bullshit. I prefer games that look REAL - like STALKER and Timeshift. |

putting my quote out of context by using [b] doesnt make it right ... i was still comparing them as a WHOLE. The sum of ALL parts. INCLUDING Graphics, gameplay/-mechanics and fun factor. And the COMBINED sum of ALL THOSE PARTS favor games like timeshift over crysis.
