This is not even a good replacement to Darksiders and you compare it to Dark Souls.

So they realized the timings are off for many enemies and they went for the easiest fix.

Well i get that darksiders fans wanted a more action oriented combat that was more forgiving but then again yeah i compared it to ds since i enjoy this type of punishing / rewarding combat.
Doubt i would have enjoyed the game at all almost if not for the hard combat.

I finished it on the apocalyptic difficulty level. I wasn't very impressed by the game. The writing in particular was terrible. So many cringy moments that I lost count. The ending was a snoozefest relying solely on an awful twist The combat has plenty of problems as well, at least some of them will be addressed in the upcoming patch. I feel sorry for all that effort put into the level design and the artistic direction, they really deserved a better game.
finished at around 15h, very short compared to previous games. once more level up and more weapons it got more enjoyable, these days you get so few to almost none old school hack and slash games you have to enjoy while you can.
probably darksiders 4 is in the works since they revealed the forth horseman.
Cinematic is a hidden preset not normally intended for release versions, it's a all out max settings thing that really shouldn't be used other than for offline rendering or movie creation since the preset is based around maxing out everything in the engine for the respective quality level of each preset.
Is that visible in this game? Would certainly explain the performance issues some people run into.
LOD? Goes from 0.0 to 1.0 for example, ultra is 1.0
Cinematic? 10.0
And so on. It's not intended for realtime performance and use as a regular preset and is as such always hidden and not normally available but yeah it's better technically.
Multiple improvements to help performance and loading. Performance improvements should also significantly reduce stuttering in high-density areas.
Updated Story mode to be more forgiving.
Adjusted invulnerability windows across all difficulties. The windows are consistent on
Balanced, Challenging and Apocalyptic and even more significant on easy.
Modified hit indicators for better readability.
Added version number on the main menu.
Fixes:
Added FOV scaling to keep correct FOV on 21:9 monitors.
Fixed various crash issues.
Added Force Respawn functionality. This option is available in the game options menu. It will kill Fury and return her to the last Vulgrim Waypoint that you visited. This option is a last resort to be used if you think you are stuck in an area for whatever reason.
Added functionality on Force respawn that will force the hollows to re-equip to Fury. This is for the issue where Fury’s hollow abilities appear to have stopped working.
Fix for issue where Force blocks were getting stuck in Scar. If you have encountered this issue, it should destroy the stuck block, and if you come back to the area, it will reload the block in the correct starting area.
Fix for issue where certain stacked breakables wouldn’t break in Bonelands.
Fix for issue that would break Gluttony fight. Fix should also fix saves that had this issue.
Fixed multiple issues where players can get Fury into unintended locations or unintended locations without expected Hollows (in some cases Force Respawn may need to be used).
Reduced Fafnir enhancement’s damage output."

Any idea where i can find to buy a ds2 deathinitive edition key? At a decent price that is. Not willing to pay 30e. Problem is , id use the cracked gog or codex version but i cant find the latest update cracked ( without it using a controller shows black icons where the buttons should be, so kinda unplayable ).
Or is there a place ( like an archive site ) for all gog patches?

I can’t figure out how I feel after finishing Darksiders 3. I welcome the departures from the original formula as they are fitting with the series’ evolving gameplay. But there’s definitely a lot to complain about in terms of storytelling and execution. Darksiders 3’s highlight is the rekindling of hope for a concluding story to the original game’s epic ending. And I can’t help but feel some excitement about this possibility.
Pros:
+ Stunning artistic direction
+ Interconnected level design
+ A good sense of exploration and discovery
+ The progression
+ Audio design
Cons:
– The story is uninspired
– The combat system has many flaws
– Problematic camera control and extremely low FOV
– Voice acting for some of the characters is over exaggerated
– Some performance problems
Added new option for Combat. Upon loading a save or starting a new game, players will be prompted to choose between “Default” and “Classic” combat. “Classic” mode should feel more like previous Darksiders titles allowing Fury to dodge interrupt her attacks as well use items instantly. “Default” mode is the original combat mode for Darksiders III. The option can be changed at any point in gameplay options while playing. This has no other effects on difficulty or achievements.
Improved ledge grab detection on Fury so she can more consistently grab ledges.
Additional optimizations to help stuttering while streaming.
Added “Health Lurcher” item to Vulgrim that allows player to purchase refills for Nephilim’s Respite .
Added “Echo Mark” item to Vulgrim that allows player to refund their spent attribute points.
Added a few new checkpoints.
Raised the level cap to 200. Also, rebalanced leveling curve post level 80 as well as stat rewards..
Fixes:
Fixes for random crashes
General performance improvements.
Fix for Force Coral where it wouldn’t break correctly. This will also fix previous saves with this issue.
Fix for some checkpoints that weren’t registering.
Cycling difficulty options while in game will not affect actual difficulty unless it is changed.
Fix for Abraxis Health bar showing up but he is missing.
Balance Changes:
Fury will no longer take damage while performing an Arcane Counters.
Havoc Form does more Damage.
Increased Havoc Generation on Obscurus Enhancement.
Increased Health and Damage amounts on Fortifier Enhancement.
Increased Health Regeneration on Leviathan Enhancement.
Increased Lurcher Reward from destroying breakables on Leviathan Enhancement.
Increased Chance to Spawn Wrath when killing an Enemy on Rage Enhancement.
This is a nice surprise, started playing it. Love the souls like style more than classic. Gfx gut, performance gut, combos gut and I like Fury's personality
I guess! The only complains I have is the asshole Vulgrim keeps raising prices on the shards (undying shard - as I like to have a safety net) after purchase
THQ Nordic has announced that Darksiders 3 has broken even and will – from now on – be considered a profitable product. The game has performed within management’s range of expectations and has recouped all investments made in development and marketing during its latest quarter.
wtf is wrong with the checkpoint system? Died a couple of times when fighting the first boss and I had to start from the very beginning.. what a joke..
Nephilim, sharpen your weapon and brace yourself: The Crucible is opening its gates!
The first DLC for Darksiders III - The Crucible - is OUT NOW!
A legendary challenge whispered with reverence across the universe. Not even the Creator could have envisioned such glorious spectacle as that which is found in this fabled arena.
- 101 Waves of grueling combat, fit only for the toughest and most steadfast of warriors.
- New armor sets to don as proof of your superiority.
- New Enchantments never seen until now.
- Rare crafting materials to improve your weapons and enhancements.
All provided by the generous, steady hand of the Crucible’s Overseer. That’s right, it is I! Targon! Founder of this stupendous arena, and the only one ever to conquer it. So what say you, challenger? Do you have what it takes to surpass me?
The operation Cleardatbacklog™ put me in front of the grumpy patched-up Redhead, I wasn't sure what to expect because of the lower budget but to my surprise, the game didn't feel like a hollow imposter and was actually an entertaining explorative action romp.
It's Darksiders, yet at the same time the ol' hack and slashy style is now imbued with vaguely Darksoulsian juice. The combat can come off as fairly approximative because of the arcade concessions (no stamina bar for instance), but the result...works, also thanks to the solid pacing with no Ubichecklists to fill and very little handholding throughout the fully interconnected world. Discovering new areas, secrets and elemental powers to progress and use to unlock shortcuts/secrets is the absolute highlight of the game, the level design as Nodrim mentioned above is a quality one just like the distinctive stylized (but not cheap ) art-style.
Fury is quite the dudeb̶r̶ogal, though she's not annoying and the simple narrative structure holds (kind of) despite it being tailored to the Avengers generation Z
The decent m&kb implementation was partially ruined by the shaky performance (albeit nothing particularly catastrophic), it took me about 18 hours to visit everything (I picked the Challenging difficulty - demanding enough without being tiresome in my opinion).
Despite the flaws, I'd say it's easily another 7ish/10 game for me and recommended to whoever enjoyed the previous ones. It's not exactly memorable but it does what it needs to do in a very diligent humble manner free from all the slimy triple-A capital sins, and that must be appreciated. Hopefully a Darkhorsemen #4 will arrive too eventually, that cliffhanger is begging for it!
As a big fan of the previous games, I was incredibly excited when the IP was saved and there was an announcement for a third game. I bought it on Steam recently since the entire series was cheaper than Darksiders 3. (?!) I for one love the Souls elements since it still kind of just do it's own thing. I'm playing it on Apocalyptic and it's mostly been rather rough, heh. It does get easier as you gain levels and gear. I absolutely love how gear actually works pretty similar to the first game, few unique weapons that you can augment with different unique runes. I ended up loving the second game overall anyway, but the loot system in that didn't do much for me to be quite honest. Not every game needs that...
I have reached Gluttony and this is easily the weakest part about the game so far, terribly designed boss. In contrast, Lust was a fantastic if a bit simplistic boss.

Yup! I agree, Gluttony was definitely among my least favourite encounters because of the scripted bits/phases and overall design. I liked most of the remaining sins, though the writing isn't consistent and some bosses are just not that captivating to be honest. Lust is the exception, has absolutely the best build-up and the character itself is genuinely interesting (Pride is another good one as well, while I didn't find the final character/fight too remarkable).
Beat him, somewhat easier after a night of sleep, heh. Still did not like the fight since it's barely even a fight. I won't deny that in some aspects this feels like a step down for the series, but I feel like most of its shortcomings are about to not being more of something. That is something I can forgive easily in this case given this game's development: rescued from the grave, given to a smaller team with a smaller budget, thus the smaller scope. I love the game anyway and I'm happy they made it, which is a thing that wasn't a guarantee. This could have absolutely been a mess that maybe had very little to do with the series. Not the case however.

Cool! Having finished it recently, I found the lack of that feature really strange considering the type of game it is and well... the previous games. Better late than never I suppose. Still need to beat the second half of The Crucible, pretty hard on Apocalyptic actually.
