Nice, I hope something good comes out of this. A remake-master done well with additional balancing for the endgame and visual enhancements would be very welcome. Even better, a future full-fledged sequel.. that ain't a MMO though!
KoA was never a MMO or meant to be one if that's what you mean.
KoA was the pre-quel to an MMO. Known as Project Copernicus.
Reason why it has a lot of Single-player MMO vibe going on. Pretty much them testing the waters.
Maybe, I'm hoping for a touched up re-release on Steam ideally updating the existing version but at some point they do have to sell things too ha ha.
Nice.
There was news earlier that it seems they dont even have the rights to re-release the first game without EA's blessing as they just bought the intellectual rights of the series but the actual rights to that game were not included.
Well that complicates getting anything done with Reckoning. Short of making their own game using the name or starting directly on a sequel which yeah the article already points it would be risky although maybe EA could be made to sell the rights but it will likely cost a bit if they're selling it at all.
(They are still sitting on things like Ultima, Dungeon Keeper, Command and Conquer and more which hasn't seen any activity in years but I doubt they're interested in selling any of them even so.)
During development of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, we rebooted the game twice & nearly folded when THQ died. It was a long, crazy road. So when we finally hit Alpha, I created this silly video for our team to celebrate.
....
You can see the three distinct iterations of the game over the video:
1) CRUCIBLE: The open world action RPG we originally set out to make under THQ
2) ASCENDANT: A creative direction reboot
3) RECKONING: When we were acquired by 38 Studios and adopted the world of Amalur...

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don’t always soften the bad things, but vice versa, the bad things don’t always spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
I played this for a bit back in the day on a JTAG 360, but it had audio that was out of sync for certain attacks that completely ruined the feel of the combat for me.
That and I never really liked the World of Warcraft aesthetic for something that's supposed to be a pretty serious world and story.
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
I was hoping for something more substantial in terms of visual enhancements, but then again this really is the era of the lazy remustard(tm)
The game was consolized as hell, had a fairly bland art-style and generic/repetitive contents, but the exploration and actual combat system were interesting, for the most part at least. The difficulty and leveling system were all over the place though, and mods were required to overcome the fact that at some point you became unstoppable.

i remember them planning to do some heavy camera and difficulty fixes in a patch , but the patch got later cancelled ... so hopefully they got a source code for this unfinished patch
Yeah the primary thing I remember is how easy it was after you got some proper nukage spells - and from what I hear the other builds weren't exactly lacking in killing power, either.
Finished this game last year and game looks beautiful on 4k, what is interesting i did not get bored for whole week of playing that game. Was playing with dual blades. Can't wait for re-reckoning.
Nice, i also remember it's got a cool combat but was too easy, but i did enjoy it tho I can't remember much from the actual plot and such so it will be nice to replay it.
