This is a really scumbag move from their side, charging additional money for GOTY.
Episodes and full game with all episodes weren't enough so now there is even fuller game than the actual full game. WTF?!

The difference is presumably the first one was Square Enix getting all the money, this one is IO getting all the money. Given that they are probably burning a significant amount of money keeping the lights on now that they aren't being propped up by a publisher, they'll need to extract the maximum amount of cash they can to survive long enough to release another game.

Guys, I know it's a triple post, but you can play the new missions for free if you go offline and select one of the locations it's set in! Even if you don't own the DLC.
The campaign is just 10 bucks I noticed, not that bad, although it doesn't seem to offer much. I'm guessing IO wants some cash flow to continue development.
Takes place on four of the existing maps but with changes time of day and some other parameters apparently, Chicago mission seems to be restricted to just a small tower though.
Seems there's currently no plans for a second season either going by posts on the Steam forums though this update adds some tweaks and improvements to the base game too and the escalation missions will be restarted shortly allowing players to acquire any missed unlocks or just re-try previously botched attempts since these are still following that single attempt rule.
So they've made server-side check for dlc's. If you don't own the dlc it won't let you go to the mission's menu. You get "Error cannot load mission menu - Retry Cancel". Retry doesnt work and if you click cancel it goes to offline mode and then it works, but of course no challenges and all.
I bet second season will use that as well.
So taking it 2 years after its out in one "GOTY Full edition of full experience of complete full goty edition" it is then.

Nope, because that additional check is when you try to load mission menu in online mode. If it was check in the game itself it wouldn't work offline mode as well. So when in online mode there is additional check on their servers now.
