truth be said... who remembers re1 and re4? old people, because old people are....old, yes.

these days developers can't make a game for certain kind of people, they have to mainstream it so yeah, tew can't be like the old resident evil games, you want your game to be played by many people as possible

but that being said, in my opinion, with all the missed oportunities and all other thigs, i still consider tew one of the best survival horror of these past years. you can clearly see that a lot of offort has been put into it, unlike many games.

Experience firsthand the powerful force that is The Keeper in The Evil Within: The Executioner. This third and final add-on for The Evil Within places players in a series of battle arenas all from the first-person perspective of The Keeper. Initially armed with The Keeper’s signature hammer, players will fight against a host of The Evil Within’s iconic villains to earn new weapons and upgrades. Set in the Manor House of the Victoriano Estate, The Executioner features first-person melee combat combined with exploration and discovery as players unearth the story of a man forced to become The Keeper.

It'll probably be very light on story. But let's see if it will have good gameplay, unlike the 2 earlier DLCs.

TWIN PEAKS is "something of a miracle."

What was this Laughing

I can't say I understood the "story" of this DLC much. But I wasn't paying much attention either..

Basically you become the Keeper and are killing some of the game's bosses to free your daughter from STEM (something, something restore her memory). In the end you face
 Spoiler:

Your daughter exits STEM but Mobius of course will keep her to monitor her.

That's more or less the main plot.

Not really. Combat is easy, you've already fought those bosses in the main game + DLC, there's 0 puzzles and it's shorter than the previous 2 DLCs.

There's even a teleporting mechanic which I am not sure why it's there...? You'd think it would be used for puzzles but nope. Then why does it exist? Confused Beats me

The executioner is quite horrible. No story, no suspense, no atmosphere, just dumb bashing and blood that looks like purple pudding. It tastes like lukewarm stew from the last week.

I think they fired everyone, and this last DLC was made by a bored janitor whose original task was to clean the offices. The "cheapness" of it is obvious, no story, no cutscenes, just bashing monsters.

The Evil Within – June 2015 Update

Console players can now remove the cinematic letterbox and play the game in full screen mode.
Casual difficulty has been rebalanced to be more forgiving to players with increased ammo amounts and adjustments to the game’s health bar.

I liked the game very much (rated it 8/10) but the DLC is for the most part bad IMO, so if you didn't even like the main game all that much don't play the DLC.

DLCs are typical B-team stuff...
Story DLC starts off nice, with a new area. Probably assets that were cut from main game.
Then starts the level recycling and backtracking...
And towards the end its more like a drugged intern played around with the level editor.

i started playing this game when it was just released. there was no 60fps fix and letterbox was still there and stuff.
bought it in sale yesterday and started playing again and there are fixes ingame now so you can choose between 30fps and 60fps and also disable the letterbox.

but one thing is missing for me... a FOV fix. where can i change it? can i change it in a ini file or something similiar without the need to download some 3rd party program.
what are they thinking why choose such a FOV?

FOV isn't bad for the type of game it is (after you disable letterbox. Without disabling the FOV is Vomit ).

Flawless Widescreen is you friend.

They Added
- first person mode + FOV option
- Infinite ammo mode
- Icons for lantern/sneaking in first person view
- Low/Medium options for Camera Bob
- The stamina has been adjusted, you can now run for 5 seconds at default stamina(was originally 3 seconds)
- All DLC Included
- Separate Achievement List from Xbox
- The game also feels less janky and smooth. definitely worth getting!

Sounds good, hope they update the Steam version too.

But yeah let's hope they eventually update Gabe's version as well, I've been itching to do another run. The Microphils can keep their UWaPp environment and rental services to themselves as far as I'm concerned.

reading firther in that thread the "basically remaster" is just gamepass fanoby hyping it up .... only difference is the additional content like the FPS mode .... performance wise it runs about the same
