It must have done better than Just Cause 3 but I have no idea what WB is planning or what Avalanche is working on or if they still have the rights for future Mad Max related games.
EDIT: Ah right they're also working on "The Hunter" series of games.
EDIT: Rough development too perhaps?

My guess would be that they had a rough time making this game due to Fury Road's release pushing them to make some last minute thematic/aesthetic/plot changes, and knew they'd never make enough money on a low-key, single-player licensed game to excite a producer/publisher.
I'm just glad they made this one fantastic game.
I just wish they'd stop making Just Cause and focus more on projects like this, with a little bit of style and depth instead of b-movie humour, infinitely powerful travel and combat tools, and mindlessly repetitive map-clearing.

We'll see I suppose, Just Cause 4 might happen before Mad Max 2 but who knows.
(That's Square isn't it? Avalanche basically being a bit independent.)

Yeah, it's unfortunate..one of those secondary projects that ended up being better that the main ones, a genuinely enjoyable sleeper hit. There would be room for improvement as well, with more combat variety, different vehicles (big trucks and bikes for instance), factions, the introduction of survival elements etc., all features that would make for an amazing potential sequel on paper.
