Server-side checks i think and i guess game generats some file for offline play. It will probably take some time i guess. Hopefully in next few days.

I was very sceptical before but after playing it I must say Relic did a very good job on this game. Polished and professional, devs worth supporting imo.

It's a well polished game with high production value that feels like it was designed 10+ years ago. The fights unfold as if the armies pock each other with sticks, it's hilarious. Age of Empires always had scale, at least to a degree, in this game the villagers are bigger than their houses.

Look at this UI:

The Xbox app is a tad better but still far from good... must be hard to design a semi-workable store front.

Xbox App Store with Gamepass, no issues here.

Only thing I'm not sure about is if I have the 4k HDR movies or not Laughing

So far played the first tutorial upon launch, good shit. Classic feel, nice graphics. Looks very polished.

There are some serious issues that I could notice after just a couple of multiplayer matches. They are pretty annoying and it's hilarious they even exist given their focus on "esports":
- the visual style is deceiving and there's no proper feedback to help, you can easily click next to a bush/tree without noticing it and queued workers will pile up there
- the UI lacks any sort of feedback
- the AI has moments when is dumber than a bag of rocks
- the pathfinding is far from great
- the mounted ranged units have the speed of mounted cavalry, the fire rate of a semi-automatic rifle and the precision of a sniper rifle
- the minimap is more confusing than helpful
- there are some serious visual pop-ups when zooming in

These come on top of the hilarious battle animations, the dumbed down mechanics to make it easier to play and the immersion breaking visual scale.
It pains me to say that the game looks and plays almost like a mediocre strategy not the successor of a legendary game (AoEII).

For the visual pop-ins during zooming in/out. There is a setting called Geometry Detail and set it to maximum. By default it is set to high and that should fix it.

Nope, there is some weird balance issues. Could just be learning to counter various cheeses. Mongolian early game cheese is brutal as fuck.

Really digging the historical 4k HDR videos Very Happy

Game is a bit choppy and nothing to show for it really.

Gave it a few tries on single player and not impressed so far. Feels a bit too cartoonish and too zoomed in.

I guess I'll stay with AOE II again.

It's already 77/100.

Compared to this trailer... the game now looks like ass.

Looks the same in game thb.

The graphics are fine. It's not a high end game, same as Starcraft 2 when it was released. It's meant to run on a wide range of systems. Also can't blame devs to lower specs with the GPU shortage. Like nobody is gonna upgrade these days.

It doesn't look the same. The original trailer has better saturated colors and better animations.

The graphics would be fine if this was 2012. Starcraft 2 looked way better for the time when it was released than this one does.

This "meant to run on a wide range of system" is one of the biggest bullshits. PCs have scalable graphics, they already can be played on a wide range of systems. Laughing

Well yes, there is a little more red in the video, that's true. Laughing . And the trailer is cinematographically staged so it looks better. It's the same engine though.

Scalability: If you turn off all the post processing, a demanding game is still a demanding game. I've you ever run a demanding game on a dated system you know what i mean. The game like crap low res and with all the settings tuned down and it's still impossible to get a decent framerate.

That's ALL you see different!? Facepalm Laughing

No surprise today's AAA devs get away with their shitty, non-innovative products, when players have such low standards...

Elden Ring aWesOme visuals come to mind, also. Cool Face
