There is a similar Wall of a more modern heroes at the entrance of my neighborhood. I would put Stoichkov there instead of Pulev though.

I just find it pathetic that all the heroes you have are "sport heroes". Call me when a real hero starts fighting corruption. Or when someone actually uses their brain.
And we had plenty of real heroes during our 1300 years of history. Even more when we were 500 of them under the Ottoman slavery. Besides, who would you even call a "hero" today in this world? Trump? Putin? Netanyahu (who should finally go to prison)? Greta?
PS: demde made a slight translation error. We don't call the sport personalities in Bulgaria "heroes". We call them "legends". He probably said heroes because the image I posted above was about the real Bulgarian heroes in history who fought for our freedom and against the corruption as you said.
I agree about the wall in Варна. Those are indeed heroes. But the sport ones is ridiculous. "Legends" isn't any better. I guess I just don't value sports as national "heroism" or "legendarium". It's just people running fast or punching strong. Big whoopdeedoo.
