People on the steam forums claim this game is hardly f2p. Is that true? Apparently you miss a lot of content if you don't get the DLCs. I'd like to try it, but it's a pretty hefty download. I'd have to clean up the SSD. I wouldn't want to bother if I'd absolutely had to pay for it.

Best real f2p MMORPG with no real restrictions probably still is Rift. When i played it some weeks ago i also was very lively

you won't feel any restriction before reaching absolute endgame. All dungeons and playfields are open before that. As well as all classes (not all races tho, you can't select the expansion race).
And worst comes to worst, you can buy the expansion in game for like 15 bucks and become premium for a month or something (or buy it elsewhere, i saw it for as cheap as 5-10$/€ and it will add 30 days of game time on new/f2p accounts.

I hope it's not another MMO..Funcom should stop developing MMOs tbh...They should focus on making single-player\co-op CRPGs and adventure games.

Exactly. They're the only ones that try to push the boundaries, while everyone else makes safe, but ultimately boring and soulless, clones. That alone gives them massive points in my book, even if the results of their attempts are ultimately marred by technical and stability issues.
I'm eagerly looking forward to see what they've cooked up - although I can't help but feel even THEY might start taking the safe crap or consolized port route now'a'days - things haven't exactly been stellar for the company.

Yes. And where did it get them ? So if you want them to get bankrupt or something they definitely should continue developing MMOs, wasting money on servers, support etc etc etc and bleeding themselves dry..
TSW is a great game. Not that great of a MMORPG though.
And if they do continue developing MMo I seriously hope they are gonna get rid of that awful engine with all its terrible (MMORPG wise) limitations ..or better yet start developing a players driven MMORPG not a content driven one..

Better to die with pride and dignity than to go on living by churning out shit for the WoW generation of Steamtards. If they bankrupt, they bankrupt, but their corpse will still be miles above the likes of Blizzard, Activision, Trion and their ilk.

1)Both AoC and TSW had some serious issues MMORPG wise..
2) Seriously? So it's only two choices then? Either die developing niche MMORPGS that essentially are not that good MMORPGS but great games overall or cater to SJW and WOW generation? Why not start developing proper single player/co-op CRPGS\adventures games and "live with pride", huh?
