I bought the game yesterday from the South African ORIGIN store.
The order was cancelled today and my ORIGIN account has been suspended.
I think they even raised the price on the SA store.
So apparently they are banning for VPN purchases.
Now, time to create a new account.
Will be sending out new friend requests.
That sucks but thanks for the notice. People always think big companies don't care or have the time to look for purchases that skirt around their restrictions but you always have to go in knowing this is a possibility for a ban. I like my Steam account and spent far too much on games to live in India for this very reason as you are always tempting fate with your purchases.

Who's to say, however, that you didn't go to SA on a business trip and just happened to pre-order? Why should the burden of proof be on you, and not them? I'd fight this shit tooth'n'nail man.

Is it really for buying it outside of your region? I'd say chances are proxy you used to buy it with was used by someone else who was buying stuff with stolen credit cards, and so they banned all accounts associated with that IP address.
mh, have you tried the live chat yet? they can say why you acc got suspended etc. iirc when accounts get suspended thats a softban for 7 days or so. but i dont know any cases where an account got suspended cause you bought with a vpn (atleast if you just put it into your basket and then logged in without vpn and purchased it; maybe just some new "security" feature cause you were logged in minutes before from a location far far away from south africa and you bought it with a sa ip?)

Yea, it's funny EA is banning for VPN purchases now. Yet their chat support can often be fooled on giving you games for free.

A company so greedy that in order to scrape together some nuts, decides to jeopardize an entire country (South African people now must spend 70 dollars for the game), along with their trusty long-time customers. They really want to win this year's worst company of America competition again after the hiatus.

I bought the game on Origin Russia about 1 week ago and my account is still well and alive. Played beta this morning and just logged on and my purchase is still in my library.
