I expected all the major content released within six MONTHS of the game's launch to be included in the overpriced season pass. I'm funny that way. Smile

(oh and if you meant the blocking, of course I expected it! Very Happy)

Biggest joke since since they (gaming industry in general) started spewing DLC's at customers/derps like hotcakes.

Honestly, I wish more groups would do this (an all encompassing release after the final DLC is out). It keeps everything nice and neat, and there's no having to worry about which DLC came before which patch and vice versa.

Quote:
Notes :
The 60gb+ SKIDROW release only adds around 400mb updated
Game files (the v1.5 update) but no additional DLC's !
The DLC "The Dreadful Crimes" was already included in
BAT's v1.4 Update incl. DLC release back in March :
http://imgur.com/CIcnIp8 .
With that update, you can already see the Crimes DLC with
a lock in front of it.
The DLC lock disappears as soon you have found the location
of a "dreadful crime" and start the mission. It remains
unlocked until you finish the mission. The lock is
active again till you visit the next location.
So in order to save you from downloading 60gb for getting
a small update, here's our release with the update files only.

This Update needs the following releases :

Assassins.Creed.Syndicate-CODEX
Assassins.Creed.Syndicate.Update.v1.21-CODEX
Assassins.Creed.Syndicate.Update.v1.31.incl.DLC-CODEX
Assassins.Creed.Syndicate.Update.v1.4.incl.DLC-BAT

Assassin's Creed Syndicate - The Dreadful Crimes
(c) Ubisoft

14-04-2016......Release Date <-> Protection.................Uplay
Action.............Game Type <-> Disk(s)................STATEMENT

STATEMENT

Our iso release of Assassin's Creed Syndicate The Dreadful Crimes
expansion has been nuked for several sites after PLAZA released their
1.5 Update. We would like to point out a few highlights herunder:

1. The Dreadful Crimes expansion was released on 11 April
2. Yes, it was included in 1.4 update in beta form
3. The final content of The Dreadful Crimes was updated with the 1.5
update4. The PLAZA 1.5 update contains that content
5. PLAZA uses xdelta for pathing files
6. We use original files, as xdelta can make mistakes
7. PLAZA 1.5 update is a dupe
8. There is no rules for releasing DLC/Expansions as standalone and
with all previous content
9. Don't make your own rules
10. Nukers, ask questions - instead of acting like CODEX drones

If PLAZA update hasn't been so cheesy, CODEX would have done it
themselves. Even at this point nukers should question the PLAZA
release. Furthermore, these persons behind these teams, should stop
reading a certain russian board filled with individuals that have no
clue about anything scene releated, besides trading steam content. The
same board that have used scene knowledge/content for years for
generating their own playable games.

Furthermore PLAZA/CODEX - you could have come to us, instead of having
your world domination attuide, afterall it was us, that help you with
your Uplay emulator amongst things. Do you now understand why we said
no to help you with your other projects?

Yup, fuck Skidrow. They've long since stopped being a player, half their shit gets nuked because they hastily throw out nonworking trash, and the rest is just steam_api emulation. Work on something decent and stop throwing bitchfits whenever other groups beat you to the steam_api punch.

this part is interesting ... might be related to the fact that CDX/CPY cooperated to beat the new form of Securom from certain D-company

- the uplay things sounds just like I expected that some of the CDX guys are ex-SKIDROW

-> also didnt know that xdelta does pathing and the RIN bashing is hilarious aswell

started playing this one last night after finishing Kholat.

Seems they changed the direction of the series though. so far, it feels like a more tighter, narrative driver experience. at least the first 3 sequences.

It's a mishmash of tomb rideresque reboot exploration (literally same exact way copy pasted, you will see lol), light stealth+a wooden version of batman's melee system. Laughing

Graphics and sound are amazing, as is the VA and the general flow of the story for now. Still can't remove the derpa green objective marker even with HUD off, but despite that, i'm enjoying myself. with no HUD, I explore the whole area, kill hostiles in fun ways, then do the objective. Otherwise there's not much challenge since you know exactly where to go and areas are wide and spacious. You can practically just go vertical and avoid all combat with no downside.

AI is terrible though. really can ruin the experience sometimes. for example, you can have a load brawl with one enemy, while the other is just behind a 2x2 crate and can't hear it at all.

So yeah, very casual, but still fun, and certainly happy with performance.

970@1920x1200 constant 60 fps at these settings

 Spoiler:

so basically max and no PCSS/PCSS Ultra shadows. those will tank the game fps to 50-55, and cutscene fps to mid 40.

you can notice it's basically a downgraded/more optimized version of the engine in Unity. smaller mobs, less world clutter, aggressive lod streaming. But it looks good still. it's a joy exploring while time of day changes. the vistas can be incredible.

Sadly I have to play at Medium textures (3GB VRAM) and HBAO+ (not Ultra) in order to sustain 60.. but it still looks very good regardless Smile

~edit~

I was wrong. I was so, so wrong. Sustain 60? Right.. in my dreams. As soon the game properly started performance was more like 45-50 regardless of settings. I'll just shelve ACS until the day I can wrangle a sys upgrade Smile

Finally finished this beast of a game.

Gotta say, the base game, definitely the best AC game since AC 2/brotherhood times.

The city was just amazing. I dunno if it's because of my Anglo Saxon educational background, but London was just brilliant to traverse in every way. The best setting in an AC game so far. The attention to detail, and the amazing style of architecture just set up an epic scope for the game, doing pretty much most of the job that in every other game falls on the shoulders of actual gameplay. Stores with authentic signs, apartments for rent. graveyards, factories, lumber mills, 19th century medicine shops. the authenticity was incredible.

Then the NPC convos, ranging from a mother in slums, whispering to her kid she needs help with begging on the streets, to a foreman talking to a crowd of workers to stop the strike as they are easily replaceable, and should be grateful for a job, and most surprisingly, two fodder NPC's discussing Plato's Cave. random NPC's.on the street. in a video game. talking about plato. just wow. Very Happy

Then the amazing music. most of it string based, kicking in at the most opportune moments. you sit on a roof to scout the surrounding, and the most adventurous, awe inspiring tune starts, sending shivers down my spine. then the npc's with guitars, violins, etc. I spent hours just exploring the city and observing the NPC's doing their thing. I saw a couple peeking into closed store windows, yelling at the owner to open up as they can see him. Very Happy

The grappling hook, by far the best addition to an AC game in recent times. really did wonders for the tedious and samey climbing. the carriages, probably the best period piece gta clone means of transportation since mafia 1.

The new kidnapping mechanic was a great addition as well, and I'm happy to say, the cut and paste eavesdrop and follow missions that ruined black flag for me, are gone.

ubisoft cookie cutter territory liberation missions were surprisingly fun as well. not forced at all, and quite varied. The overall amount of enjoyable content was truly staggering. even after you finish the main story, several more sidequest unlock.

The series lack of challenge, is sadly still there, and even the no hud mode leaves a lot of hints on screen. Not leveling up skills does help with that a bit, but still, not sure why they can't include a difficulty toggle for the more experienced gamer. By far the worst hints were entry points. the game shows you on screen, where exactly to enter a building. Do they really think we are that dumb? Especially if I disable the hud in the options. I don't need a game to tell me i can enter through a door, i'll fucking find the door, it's a damn house Laughing

I also missed the present day sci-fi story, which I found to be the best part of black flag. now the present day part was a few cutscenes and text and audio logs from collectibles. It is a bit strange that so much lore was hidden within the menus and completely optional. I can't even imagine the amount of money they spent on quality voice acting that maybe 10% of players will ever listen to.

But overall, a nice step up from unity in performance and overall polish, and the biggest step forward in the gameplay department since ac2/brotherood and ship sailing of ac3 through rogue.

As far as the two dlc's go, the last maharaja was very good. basically a set of sidequests that blends into the base game.

Jack the ripper on the other hand, was pretty terrible. it takes place 20 years after the base game, in a tiny portion of the city, and you get to play evie and jack the ripper. it's combat heavy, with a new fear gameplay mechanic and a few new skills based on it, which just didn't fit with the AC gameplay at all. not to mention the silly story they concocted to fit in jack the ripper into the lore. the weakest part of the game by far.

Well I have completed this game as well since last week, but I had to push myself through it, to complete it. The game honestly felt rather boring, combat mechanics is just button spamming and ugh just bad basically. The grappling hook was a very good addition as well the move up/move down free run climbing. Took me longer then most AC games to complete it. Graphics and all very good, nothing much to complain about that. Story is somewhat weird.. Better optimised than Unity and less bugs lol, nothing really groundbreaking encountered. I rather liked Black Flag and Rogue a lot more. Actually I spent most of my time on the sea, which imo is the best parts of those games. Atm I'm playing Mad Max and it feels loads better.

An update was apparently released a few days ago.

From the readme:

Yep that's the update notes, or lack thereof. Razz

The ones from update 1.50 are available though but 1.51 apparently fixes something they can't mention so probably DRM related then.

What a retarded video Laughing

TL;DW - AC has too little pew pew pew and should be more like Uncharted. Laughing

He complains about the story being bad, but when the story and plot is being uncovered (during the assassination dialogues in AC1), he says it's boring and should be more pew pew pew Laughing

He's free to his opinions of course...but what a retard.

The fondest stuff from AC1 ARE the main assassination missions and the exposition after the kill. Because among other things it shows those supposed scum of the earth bad guys as something else. That it wasn't all black and white as the Master implied.

The 1.5 update hit the PS4 version and now offers support for PS4Pro 4K, or well the HUD supports 4K..heh. Razz

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1319065

EDIT: Technically though I do not see the PS4 Pro or XBox One S as having the GPU power needed for native 4K unless it's upscaled 1080p which it seems to be in several cases.
(Well less demanding games might still work but it's still a crap-ton more pixels so 4K60FPS is probably not easily achievable.)

Yeah I suppose, I mostly just found it funny and made a little remark on it but the game is pretty much over with in terms of continued support so this thread will probably disappear again in a few hours. Very Happy

There's little else to say about the game really, hopefully the longer development period for AC:Egypt or whatever it's actual name will be when properly revealed or announced will have helped a bit since both Unity and Syndicate had problems since this engine upgrade and other quirks or bugs.

Well I guess it's nothing new for Ubisoft either, technical issues on release and uncertain post-release support for many of their "AAA" games over the last couple of years.
(Oh like every other developer these days then? Heh well it's not quite that bad... yet.)
