Embracer Group Cancels ‘Deus Ex’ Video Game

I mean, when you hear the name "Embracer Group", the first thought in everyone's mind ought to be "Gee, that sure sounds like an evil maniacal world domination overlord corporation that's going to be hell bent on destroying all that is good".
They're not even trying to hide it at that point. Eidos can't shift the blame here - they knew exactly what they were getting in to.
Still, I wish the new Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines would have ate that bullet instead of Deus Ex.

Absolutely. Im honestly glad that this piece of shit company is not touching Deus Ex. I hope they wont touch Thief either. Only Paradox would have been a worst piece of shit publisher than Embracer. So its good that they wont soil the franchise with some cheap, focus tested crap, which a game under them would have 100% been. Low budget, streamlined manure, molded around whatever they would think would sell at the time. Its better to have this in limbo then, it will resurface sooner of later, hopefully bought by someone else.

So let's recap: no new Deus Ex, System Shock 3 is practically dead too, Arkane are making bloody Marvel gaems (and in addition to that, they've lost most of their talents over the past few years), Bloodlines 2 is being handled by the Chinese Roomies + Paragreed dangercouple, Obsidian are desperately and rather clumsily chasing that Skyrim clout (plus they've also lost many talented people), the Piranhas are six waves under and Warhorse are...in a tricky position as well because of Embracer.
We're left with inXile's project and Levine's, though we don't know much about those so far, as well as the big boys CD Projekt 3.0 more Americanized and improved, Rockstar and Bethesdarulo 202X Edition. I really hope the Cykamen won't fail miserably with STALKER 2 (and 4A with the new Metro) because otherwise, the future of immersive/atmospheric games isn't exactly bright.

I have zero faith in kojima, perhaps I don't enjoy being a pre-historic postal men. MGS series was god tier but that was a real chaotic nosedive for me, really didn't grab me at all just put me off.
Western game publishers all want to make a single live service game and milk it for a decade or more R* style without R* talent or budget. So it's like watching lemmings go off a cliff with blindfolds.
