It's not that impressive really, but it does remove the faint glow which fogs up things. Not worth the trouble. It's the first version, so naturally changes will be small.

You run the game on DX10? Shocked (Brotip: Game is DX9 only)

Btw does ENBSeries are ok running with Steam?

What the?

The game uses DX11 and supports DX9, there isn't much added via DX11 however but it looks pretty good. Smile

As for ENB being DX9 only that's how it started out (Actually DX8 I believe.) and DX10+ would require a full rewrite so that's not planned as far as I understand his position the previous times this sort of thing has happened.

EDIT: Was answered re: DirectX. Razz

Actually using DX11 in this game makes a noticeable difference for me, mostly with the tesselation on the heads of characters (even if it's not applied on everyone). Also, regarding the use of ENB, I like the yellowish style.

I tested the effect myself and though it is impressive there's some room for improvement and hopefully future versions will amend the things like partially missing shadows and the overly aggressive lighting (I only did some tweaks to the ini though so this might already be doable.) but it has potential.

And yeah DX11 tessellation does help the character models like you said, I mostly thought about the improved performance and additional shader effects.
(And again like you said the heads especially are pretty blocky and benefit from this.)

You can bring back yellow, if you edit enbeffect.fx to enable "#define POSTPROCESS_V2" entry.

Personally, I don't like adaptation effect from this mod. Makes locations like Hive really unpleasant to look. Luckily, it can be disabled in enbseries.ini.

// Edit

Actually it does, but only in fullscreen. But it's shit. Only spools up my card with no extra benefit.

New patch just released: http://store.steampowered.com/news/6337/

Quote:
Unfortunately the recently released patch had a negative impact for some players. This patch is a hot-fix to address those issues.

- A specific issue that caused performance degradation for some DX9 players in the 1.2.630 patch has been fixed.
o We are still evaluating further measures to counter stuttering and plan to have a further update for this in another patch.

- Crashes when examining quest items have been fixed.

- Some issues related to switching between fullscreen and windowed mode have been fixed.

- Additional fixes have been made for the TYM medical card. The current fix should also allow users that already have the problem in their savegame to pick up the card again.

- ‘Russian’ text language option now shows up correctly regardless of current text language.

- An issue that may cause the game to have stability issues on certain RAID setups may have been addressed. Even with this patch, if you have a RAID setup, please ensure you have the latest drivers for your controller.

In addition to stuttering and performance problems we are continuing to investigate any other issues that players may have and will release a full new patch soon that also includes the previously mentioned 3DVision and Surround support.

Go go Nixxes!
