Looked into it myself couple of days ago and from what I found no single player component whatsoever. There is some kind of gameplay against bots but it is intended for training only towards the online part. Too bad, I would love another good medieval combat game like M&B.

i really dont get what paradox was thinking, we already had warband with 200+ players , why would i enjoy 15vs15 .. maybe its consoles oriented ?
Id rather have they out that time and effort into warband 2 and make the best single and multiplayer game ever that will finally put medieval 2 total war in my dust closet.

Completely unsurprised, whilst the game looked pretty, it was horrible to play. Chivalry has decent speed and action, but for me, Warband is still top despite it looking the worst.

Going free-to-play is definitely a sign of true desperation, the user base was probably already dead  . And I bet that free users with the standard equipment won't stay for long either, since they'll get raped by legit -fully equipped- players.
