Ohh man im gonna laugh so hard if this is Wrath of the lich king and not Diablo 3. From the look of that picture it must be wrath of the lich king since its all ice and thats what Northrend is mostly about. I bet Arthas will peek out from those icetaps

personally i hope it IS diablo 3...being a fan of diablo and diablo 2 and waiting years and years (even after screenies of diablo 3 were released years ago) the closest hack n slash game that came close to diablo 2 is titan quest-personally id love to see diablo 3.....but i am not holding out much hope

All I know (and I have told this story before) is that i talked to a guy year before last who claimed his brother worked for Blizzard and that Diablo III had been in the works for a while in secret. We go to talking because we both played Fate. I was telling him how I really loved the pets in Fate and he said they had been looking at that as well in Diablo III. Now, there were other things said and evidence given. I still took it with a grain of salt. . . who knows. i hope he wasn't an expert BS'er. But i have met plenty of them.

Uhm, no. They really are not.
None of the blizzard titles have really been innovative - come on, they even stole borrowed the settings for WarCraft and StarCraft from Games Workshop!
For example, if we didn't have Diablo, we'd still have our action RPG's with clickable interface. They might not be so mainstream and we might've had to wait a little longer for the first one to emerge. You can hardly say that Blizzard created anything new when they made Diablo.
Many of the features we saw in Diablo were around for quite a while already (If in doubt, there are games like The Immortal -- released 1990!), what Blizzard did was making it as simplified as possible so that wider group of gamers found it appealing.
IMHO Blizzard is to gaming industry like MacDonalds is to franchising. Successful - Yes. Influential - Definitely. Major innovator that revolutionized RPG genre? Well... If you think that hamburgers revolutionized restaurant business...
Doesn't stop me from playing their games tho
