Yeah it was evident from all the footage that this was going to be yet another utter-generic directionless GenZ-y dud - even by the meta-standards. It almost looks as though the game was initially designed to be GaaS-like but then after the Avenghurrs fiasco it was rebranded as a single-player game - which obviously was never going to work either since you can put lipstick on a pear, but it's still a pear.
Gotham Knights is up there with Elden Ring as a Game of the Year contender. Its fast, responsive, and action-packed combat is surpassed only by a narrative that had me glued from the very first cutscene. A must-play for fans of open-world titles, and an easy pickup for anyone invested with the Gotham Knights or DC Universe.
I really don't understand all those low scores. I mean, it looks AMAZING and the combat is similar to Arkham games. It does have a heavy CPU bottleneck on PC (the RTX 3080 Ti won't run above 60-70% even with a Core-i9 12900K) so it can't maintain 60 FPS all the time at 4K with max settings (ray tracing included). So, this one has mouse smoothing and some sort of acceleration applied Mouse camera mimicks the sticks, with all the loseness and laggy feeling it comes. If you move the mouse extremely fast, it doesnt register, the camera barelly moves.
Bullet/punch sponge enemies seem the worst about this game.
I played the Yakuza games, I can handle some grinding, if enemies fall fast Perhaps this game is best played on easy mode then

pure corpo playtime padding does nothing but hurt any fun to be had.
I will never understand how developers go from developing good games to something like this and not thinking maybe this isn't such a great idea.
Batman: Arkham Origins from WB Games Montreal was ok but it was not on the Rocksteady level of their trilogy of Arkham games. The Rocksteady Suicide Squad game may end up suffering a similar fate now that the studio heads and game director left the studio before that one even comes out. Something like that is never a good sign for a game before release.
Internal conflict most likely from being pressured to following market trends. Why do studios that create good games always implode? Suits can't be dumb enough to not understand that a brand name won't be enough to carry a series forever if the quality we're used to is gone. It'll sell for a game or two more before it stops.
The good devs probably leave when they realize the game they're making is crap, so you're left with the crappy devs, or younger devs who don't really know what a good game is? Dunno.

Look at how many big name games have been shit recently. Games that tried nothing new, built on the reputations of multi-million/billion dollar franchises. Seems par for the course with superhero games

yet still i liked some aspects of origin more than in the other games. def was not a bad game, still on par with the older ones, people just disgard it couse they reused the map
